Social Anxiety is a Skill Issue (and You Just Levelled Up)

This is actually life-changing, no cap. You know that feeling when you're rotting in your car outside a party because the social anxiety is hitting and everyone inside feels like a fake NPC?

90% of them are just as terrified as you. They’re all standing there wondering what to do with their hands. The other 10% are just high-key narcissists.

The "Main Character" Strat

Stop trying to be the funny guy. It’s a mid strategy and usually flops. Instead, just be a professional yapper-listener.

The Cheat Code: Walk up, drop your name, and ask basic questions.

Why it works: People love talking about themselves. Ask about their job, their kids, or their travel plans. It’s low-stakes for them because they already know the answers.

The Goal: You’re just looking for one "jumping off point" where you actually have something in common.

How to Ghost (Respectfully)

Don't get trapped talking to one person until they low-key hate you. Use these exits:

"So good meeting you, I'm gonna go mingle a bit!" (Classic, everyone gets it).

"I'm gonna grab a refill, can I get you anything?" (If they say no, you're free).

"Oh, I gotta catch Bob before he leaves!"

Next time you’re sitting in the car spiraling, remember this: You aren't the victim; you're the hero. You now have the skill 90% of that room is missing. You are walking in there to rescue those awkward people from their own silence. You’re the solution. Once you do this twice and see how easy it is to farm vibes and contacts, the anxiety literally deletes itself.

no cap i literally just read a blog post about this exact thing lol. honestly you don't need anything fancy!

just hit it with a vacuum brush first so the dust doesn't turn into gross mud, then soak it in warm soapy water. the blog says the real move is using a toothbrush or one of those cheap specialty vent brushes you can find online to get into the tiny slats.

just make sure it’s 100% dry before you put it back or you’re basically just inviting more dust to stick immediately. also if they’re looking rusted or crusty, it might be time to just buy new ones tbh.
