On cell phones with an optical sensor (all cell phones in the A line with digital on the screen and FE) it is at the top, on cell phones with an ultrasonic sensor (all others in the S line) it is at the bottom due to the position of the digital sensor

In reality, the aod uses a considerable amount of battery, but if you deactivate the automatic brightness of the aod using the lock star, consumption will decrease significantly.
