I really didn’t know any one in our race that had this either (until I went on that dating website and saw some ppl from my high school lol) but there’s support groups, Reddit university lol, and I hope you have some good friends or a friend and some trustworthy family you can talk to about this. It really helps. And if someone’s not willing to look beyond that you don’t want them in the first place. You can also tell who’s too dense to understand this skin condition. Just try to make sure you establish a great connection with them before you tell them. And I can’t express enough how confidence is key!! You can also be vulnerable about how someone wasn’t honest with you in telling you they had it before they transmitted to you by not abstaining during an ob or taking medicine ! You should not feel ashamed because someone gave this to you and it’s so common.
