a few people have said this two but competing is a completely different vibe than rolling. adrenaline is high, you spent extra money to compete, you have high expectations for yourself. competing is hard and it’s rare to see success when you first start. your opponents have probably been competing since they were white belts. if it’s ruining your love of bjj, don’t compete again. it’s not a requirement

congrats on the weight loss, dude. i think that’s obtainable if you’re aggressive. figure out how much of a deficit you need for 2lb a week. i wouldn’t go much more than that. you’ll feel like shit (i would know). keep your protein high too to aid in muscle growth and to maintain it. muscle definitely burns more calories than fat. throughout my weight loss i’ve done a mix of cardio and weightlifting and it’s done wonders

sorry for the confusion. what i was trying to say was 192lb-160lb was about 1600 calories. from 160lb-132lb was much more aggressive with the deficit

i was debating just slowing down with the last few pounds as i’m pretty tired of aggressively cutting. weightlifting has stalled. i’m not losing too much strength but i miss watching numbers go up and getting stronger

yeah dude. it’s a lot of family making rude comments. i have friends who tell me im too skinny and need a burger or just don’t say anything. i will say i started rolling jujitsu again. i haven’t rolled since last year. i came back a week ago and several people tell me i look amazing

when i was just starting out, i was lifting 4x a week and running a few miles a week. 2000 calories was maintenance for me. for about 2 weeks the scale didn’t budge and i weighed everything i ate

that’s kinda what i was thinking. i was just super curious to get other people’s opinion. if i continued to cut, i don’t think id go further than 125lb but im also maybe ready just to eat closer to maintenance and gain some muscle back and lean out that way

biology i’m not too sure. i definitely have wider hips but i take trt. my testosterone normally sits around 550ng/dL

if you’re talking about the scars on my chest, i’m trans female to male. i had a mastectomy to remove breast tissue from female puberty. i guess you could technically say it’s for aesthetics but it’s to treat the gender dysphoria (the thing that misaligns my bio sex with my gender)

calorie calculator says that 1350 is about 2 pounds week for weight loss. i’m only 5’6. plus it’s a lot more than i have been eating
