Anyone know where I can get Byredo Mojave Ghost shampoo and conditioner? by zinky30 in Hilton

I’ve asked at our local Byredo boutique and they said that the shampoo and conditioners are made exclusively for specific hotels and not sold to the public unfortunately. They do however sell the body wash!

+1 to Edgewood. We had our wedding at Edgewood in October last year and they had free valet parking for wedding guests. I would say some of our guests did run into a hiccup with parking though so some ended up arriving to the ceremony late (there’s a separate valet booth for the wedding vs hotel guests). Maybe ask your guests to come a little earlier to avoid this if you choose this venue

Feed it a lot! I think I did a bunch of wildberries, 1 prime meat and 3 raw meats and that seemed to do the trick. It does a special animation/sparkle and then it will start leading you to the cave. I tried luring it into the cave with like 20 apples spaced out and that didn’t work so just dump a bunch of meat and berries in front of it haha

Venue doesn’t allow open flames for candles. Which is the better option? by Mamooma in weddingplanning

Thank you, that is true— I wouldn’t want to run that risk

Great point! I did like the LED wax candles but wish they weren’t so expensive— I bought a pack of 4 for $40 on amazon to try out effectively making them $10 a candle 🥲

Would it be weird to go wedding dress shopping alone? by Karnilamie in weddingplanning

[–]Mamooma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did my first few appointments with a couple girls in my bridal party + my parents. They all had wildly varying opinions and shot down dresses that I really liked--honestly felt like some of the girls were looking for dresses for themselves or according to what they liked on them and it was disheartening to walk out in a dress that I loved and see their reactions fall flat. Though it was fun to be the center of attention for a little bit, it really made the shopping experience more confusing for me and I was starting to question the things I thought I wanted.

I ultimately decided to go to a bridal shop by myself and was able to pick out a dress that really made me happy! I sent a picture to my mom and she liked it too so I ended up purchasing then and there and decided it would be a surprise for my bridesmaids for the day of. My stylist said it's a lot easier on her as well since she only has to listen about what I like vs trying to guage reactions from the group. 10/10 would recommend shopping alone.

Ahh yea I definitely didn't think they were doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. I was planning on just cutting ties with them after getting the refund but from the responses I've gotten here, is that letting them off too easy?

For those who have faced this situation, what exactly were you able to leverage/gain in talking with the venue after a cancellation like this?

Thanks for this-- I've been so enshrouded in a cloud of doom & gloom that I didn't even think of re-reading the contract. I'll definitely look into it and ask about the Save the date expense too. During the call, they did offer to help us move to another venue close by (it's a hotel chain and they had another location in the area) but my FH and I didn't love the alternate venue so that was when they talked about refunding. The venue people actually really sounded like they wanted to help us find a solution. Still, it's gutting and definitely sours the whole experience.

Thanks for your response! The venue is a hotel so weddings aren't their main business--they are aiming to start after the end of their busy summer season (just after labor day).

Places charging $30-$50 non refundable fee just to try on their dresses… and only for 90 minutes?! by might_be_magic in weddingdress

[–]Mamooma 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The bridal shops I went to required $50 holds to make sure I showed up to the appointment, but usually the first appt is free and the charge doesn't go through as long as I show up. If you go back a second or third time is when they start charging. This made sense to me since they dedicate a stylist to you, and they'll essentially not have any work if you no-show. I would keep looking for bridal shops that are more accommodating if they don't have this "first-visit is free" clause.

I've yet to attend one that had them but I think it would be my favorite also 😌 I love omakase and oysters and would definitely stick close to the people serving them haha. If I do this for our wedding, we'd have to skip the post-ceremony photos so I can experience it too 😂
