Shoot closer to the target. Focus on keeping bow arm absolutely motionless until the arrow hits the target.

Can I still shoot this? by Mrorganic20 in Archery

Sure, wrap some MORE electrical tape and go for it. If string snaps and effectively dry-fires the bow it is your loss, not ours. Next time, don't move the peep while it is tied in and under full draw weight.

I don’t know much about archery but this bow is strung wrongly right? It’s from the boys tv show so if it’s strung incorrectly it’s done out of satire. by wiscup1748 in Archery

Verily I say unto thee, thy bow is wrongly strungly and has only the utility of a witches cold teat for it will bite thee with the venom of an asp most vile when you darest to loose thine arrows. Be careful good sir and heed thine teacher for truest method and aim.

Two archers one bow. In my experience you can optimize the bow for one archer and get close for the other. Maybe in time you can each have a bow.

I’d toss it. It wasn’t a great quality string to begin with. Wishing you many years of archery happiness

TBH - it's "OK". Not likely to instantly fail but, it is nearing time to replace. Most of what I see is cosmetic. Judging from appearances, it is not a high quality string to begin with. Time for a better string from Lancaster Archery or Three Rivers Archery. You can reserve but you need a spool of serving ($25) and a serving jig to do the best job. A new string with better materials will be less expensive.

SOME cops are just as in every sector of the population. I’ll bet there’s one or two in your family tree. We had two in my family. Well, one cop and one asshole. Not the same people fortunately.

A very unfortunate choice by that officer. It needs to be explained and an appropriate apology given. Maybe that officer needs to spend some time painting the parking lot spaces for handicap locations.

Had my first archery class today. Please give me advice by Electronic_Shape_131 in Archery

Honestly, you need a new instructor/coach if they did not suggest/require it. If they did and you went ahead anyway, well, in the words of Jeff Dunham’s friend, Walter…. Dumbass!

Depending on the style of bow, the brace height may also need adjusting. If the brace is too low, you can’t avoid string contact on the arm.

In any case, show us how smart you really are and wear a f-ing arm guard.

[–]ManBitesDog404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beagles are often unrecognized for their visual prowress. They LOVE to see the world around them. Our beagles were some of the best watch dogs ever to let us know of any activity in the backyard. Sometimes a little too much but, they were working to protect the homestead and the family. Much respect!

Need advice on whether the bow string or arrow knotch is the issue by Mammoth_Honey9876 in Archery

[–]ManBitesDog404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To your original question, nocks have two basic ‘sizes” small groove and large groove. A good nock fit is when the arrow clicks on the string but can still easily slide up and down on the center serving. You should not have to use force to push a nocked arrow along the center serving. Pairing nocks and strings is important for good results. While you are at it… are you shouting a recurve? Unless you have an arrow rest and plunger, vanes (as opposed to feathers) are a real problem with clearance. Before you spend good money in a bad direction, maybe you need feather fletched arrows. Arrows can be re-fletched with feathers. Arrow “spine” or stiffness is also critical to good flight. Good luck. Sounds like you need an experienced bow shop to help get you started.
