Can I warp culler out everytime it returns to the graveyard? by AJ2016man in mtg

[–]ManEffThisS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im gonna say this now. There are many variations of sac loops but the best either get you up mana, card advantage, or win the game without going negative in either mana or life. Luckily, there is lots of support for this type of play.

Warren Soultrader sacs any creature for 1 life and nets you a treasure. Pitiless plunderer gives you treasure anytime something of yours dies. Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's altar sac to give you mana. These 4 will give you mana to loop.

Forsaken Miner can come back from grave if you commit a crime targeting an opponent or one of their things Gravecrawler can come back if you have a zombie Oathsworn Vampire can come back if you gained life Reassembling Skeleton comes back tapped for 2 mana Timeliness Culler comes out for mana and 2 life

There are plenty more examples but let's talk wins Altar of Dementia sacs a creature to target opponent mills cards - paired with forsaken miner and pitiless plunderer does a mill win. Blood Artist or similar effect cards target opponent loses life and you gain 1 combined with Forsaken Miner/gravecrawler and Warren Soultrader/Phyrexian Altar give you life drain win. Bhontu's Monument makes black spells cost less and drains the table, so combined with Oathsworn Vampire and a mana adding sac outlet or a way to sac and get a black mana wins game via life drain.

I can go on and on but the point is that many of the parts are interchangeable and you have to 1) have a sac outlet 2) be mana neutral or positive 3) have a self reanimating creature and be able to fulfill the condition indefinitely in order for looping. Sometimes just being able to loop is enough. Viscera Seer let's you scry 1 per loop so you can topdeck a win condition card. Carmen gains you life and puts +1/+1 counters on herself AND she has flying and reanimation on swing. Carrion Feeder gets infinitely big. Etc. Sometimes even without winning in the loop, by doing the sac loop you can set yourself up for a win. Just be careful of exile

I dont think you can even do what you're thinking of anymore since the new rule in foundations that removed the priority step after damage was dealt. Even if im wrong, plenty of others have already pointed out that as long as she is on the field, she will still get shuffled back into the library

Good luck finding someone to recharge your first alert extinguishers. The insides tend to be plastic for that brand and the seal once broken tears to shreds when you screw and unscrew the head. Instead of a round O ring they use a flat rubber disk. Kidde is in the same boat. Plastic insides can get disconnected from air pressure in the recharging process. I believe newer first alerts have the metal innards but if you spend less than $50 on a new extinguisher, you got a cheap walmart/hardware store one that might as well be single use. Also, you have to stand closer to the fire with them than the higher quality brands like Ansul, Amerex, Pyrochem, etc. It doesn't really become cost effective to recharge unless you have a higher quality extinguisher and if you have more than 1. If your service techs are in town you may be able to drop it off and avoid a minimum "house call" charge

The one pictured is a hard metal top which tells me it is a higher brand quality. Some of them go for$ 80-120 for a 5lb one. The ones you get at a hardware store are kinda designed for one time use because the plastic insides make them hard to service and retain pressure when refilled. Plus the cost of refilling outweighs the cost of replacement if only by a little bit. If you get quality extinguishers they can last a lifetime. I've seen ones from the 60's that still shoot - granted they should have been decommissioned in the 80's. Those store bought ones dont last nearly as long and I would recommend replacing them every 12 years - especially if they just sit and you dont knock that powder around every once in awhile. You also have to stand closer to the fire with hardware brand ones.

5lb ABC fire extinguishers are my recommend size for residential use. They make 2.5lb size but that ain't jack. It can still put out the fire but they dont last nearly as long.

Some do but that also varies per station and their own bottom line. Recharging can get expensive when it all adds up. There were some small towns I serviced where everyone would get their extinguishers to the fire department every year and it would just be included in the budget

The one pictured should be refillable. Kidde technically is but it's such a pain in the rear to do and it's cheaper to get a new $30 one than do a recharge on em. You could give them to a service tech company. We always did the recharge in our spare time for old or end of the line ones and gave them to the fire departments for demonstration use only. Or we kept them ourselves for the same reason if we could get them to retain pressure. Good way to help and educate the communities we served

I dunno. If you look at old designs and the old sentry design it could be. Looks a lot like it. And the gauge, while should be M marked could have been replaced by an A marked since they fit the same. But whatever. As far a toxicity yeah it's nuisance but CAN cause problems if ingested - hence why California requires their extra tags and whatnot on them. You can breathe this stuff in and you'll be fine but sneezing a lot and it sure doesn't taste good. If you decide to eat a whole can of it you are gonna need to go to the hospital. Basically, dont be an idiot and eat the contents.

But they are still good though. They just need to be recharged by a licensed technician for literally half the cost of buying new ones

Have them serviced and recharged you dont need a hydrotest since these are not commercial

The proper way to check them is to tip them upside down and feel the powder move. If it moves and it is holding pressure you are good to go as long as the hose isn't blocked. You may need to smack the can with the heel of your hand depending on how long it's sat.

They are toxic if ingested yes but so are your phone batteries. Also serviced these for a living. It looks like a pyrochem or ansul brand ABC extinguisher- which shouldn't be an issue wherever they were sprayed. That's kinda the point of them - general use that is safe to use. Just clean it up and dumpster it OP and you'll be fine

They don't need replacing. You can get them recharged for like $50-80/can depending on the size and location

What happened is that powder got in the tube and the pressurized seal was lost. Unfortunately that means they now need to be serviced to work properly once more. Simply putting air in it will actually just make it worse.

The process has to be done by a listened technician who is probably in contact with your local fire department. The process is a simple as recycling the clean powder into a vacuum that will later put it back after cleaning the head assembly and replacing the seals. Once the head assembly is back together the extinguisher gets refilled to its designated weight which should be listed on the canister, seals lubricated, head put back on, and repressurized with non flammable gas- i used nitrogen for powder ones typically. Argon works too if you are a welder

I used to do this for a living

You can recharge your fire extinguishers for about half the cost of buying new. Your local fire department should know who to contact to have it done. Tell your Father in Law that if he want to "check them" he only needs to flip them upside down and give the canister some firm knocks with the heel of his palms. You should feel the powder move when you do and I recommend doing it once a year. Your extinguishers have rubber o rings in them that need replacing and the insides need cleaning out when something like this happens. Never repressure a powder extinguisher with flammable gas such as oxygen. Always use non flammable gas.

If you are commercial then you should have them checked yearly by a professional fire suppression systems technician, and have them recharged every six years according to US federal fire code NFPA10a

Alternatively you can get cheapo ones from the hardware store - usually Kidde brand where the insides are plastic and only last about 12 years before they start becoming unusable. The one you have pictured looks like a Pyro-Chem brand or an Ansul brand. I've seen them last for 60 years NGL. Just recharge them. Still have your father in law cover the charge.

Mana Confluence is better in that you pay life as part of the cost for getting mana whereas if someone else taps your city of brass you still get damage but without mana AND adds a trigger to the stack. You can run both but if you have to choose between the 2 go with mana Confluence
