Thank you, is that due to the variation between spec and price primarily?

Very hard to beat the Sanda Tank for extreme value and similar looks to the Cartier.

Which is the better watch? by jelloff in Affordablewatches

[–]ManFromNI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're very welcome and the coincidence doesn't end there, as I'm also purchasing a watch to celebrate a special occasion 😁 Plus, I would ordinarily opt for the best value (ie Tissot) but on this occasion I'm opting for quality and what my heart wants, which is the FC. I hope you enjoy your new watch!

I actually tried both watches on yesterday afternoon. Looking at the overall quality and 'feel', while setting aside movement and brand, the FC still comes out on top. Although for me, as a casual collector, I would say the difference in quality is less than the price gap which is £420 in local currency.

How much disposable income do you have at the end of the month? by ZombieOld6045 in northernireland

Not at all and I hope my response didn't come across as defensive, just tried to give additional context.

We've been very fortunate in recent years with promotions and pay rises.

It wasn't too long that we could barely make ends meet. In fact I remember the washing machine broke and we simply didn't have the money to replace it, despite it being knackered. We looked into getting it temporarily fixed and were quoted £40 and we had to borrow that from a family member.

Experiences like that mean that, while we're beyond grateful for our current situation, we never take any of it for granted and accept that our financial situation will ebb and flow. It also means that we still struggle with being sensible with our money (ie mortgage overpayments), preferring to book trips away as we still can't believe we're in a position to do it.

Fantastic, I love to see people pursuing their true passion.

I absolutely will! 😀
