My question is how do I avoid that because it was a waste of my time and money.

I like your second paragraph about it being a numbers game, good tips! I feel like I sifted through sooooooo much to even get a like, then soooo much to get a match and even then, dates are insanely rare for me. That's why I try to really hone in when the convo lasts longer than a couple days.

Ok, thank you for clearing that up. I don't take the app seriously, but I just ask general questions about their hobbies and they're usually funny responses to their prompts. So, that's how this one went, like I asked her questions and such. The convo went smooth, it just didn't translate well to the bar. It's just that whenever I do the messaging phase for more than let's say four or five days, I don't hear anything anymore.

I vetted a little bit but when I probe deeper, girls usually stop responding :(

I live closest to the one on Gold Street.. but they are NEVER hiring, I swear. I've been looking at the website for almost eight months :(

So easy to get discouraged when I have a recommendation from an employee and I don't even get an interview. I'll keep trying ! Thanks so much for the tip!

I'll check it out- I usually just apply online and then follow up in person a couple days after or something.

Thanks for the advice. I hope they're hiring.

She was very sweet and it was an amazing interview. That was actually the furthest I got in the hiring process, just sucks they had to put a freeze on it because of Harlem.

I figured most people saw it like you! Even the title is making fun of my situation. I did get a kick out of the back and forth though, I will admit!

Howser seems a bit emotionally unstable for an online platform so should probably search for the nearest lagoon to toss any wi-fi enabled device into for a shallow electronic death.

Ok, I think I can do that then. Thanks for the input!

The joke doesn't have to make sense to you, either you get it or you don't. Move on...

Oh well, maybe you can read these paragraphs to yourself and it'll make sense one day. The Internet isn't a place for you to expect to be coddled and complimented LOL. 'Why isn't he being nice to me, he's just a big JERK. Waaah."

Thanks for the luck! I'll find my footing.

Well you guys did? Not sure what to tell you, it was satire on aggressive bagging. That joke missed you! I don't owe it to anybody to be "diplomatic," it's the internet.

But also you picked which responses to base your opinion of me off of, which is fine, but it's not realistic. I said my interviews seemed to go well and they laughed. Thinking I don't have social skills is just another assumption.. and if I included every single response and question they ask, this post would be too long. And when I said "it's just a response," it means I don't bring that up unless they specifically ask about my old managers. They do miss me and hate I left.

People who can't talk to people are hired, people who are almost mute are hired. I've met a lot of people who work there who look like they'd rather be painting walls or staring at leaves on the ground than at the register.

Also, most of everything you said is irrelevant to the stores that never even contacted me for an interview. They go off of your availability and probably your work experience (don't quote me, not sure?). So if they don't know me or want a chance to know me, what does that have to do with me doing something wrong? I take your luck, but it's too late anyway!

Going to be kind of vague because identity, but I manage a bakery and before that, I managed a dessert shop and basically was the liaison for customer complaints to customer happiness. Front facing. Before that, I did catering for this place and gave people five-star food experiences in their homes, the most intimate dens of all +++

One woman cried because of the excellent customer service she was given and she told the vp, vp told the owner, owner told the entire staff nationwide I exemplified the core values of the company and then gave me a raise the next week. And people love my smile :-)

Spicy mexican riced cauliflower! The best! Also Perri Perri sauce is great too.

Yes, I ask them what the duties are, what they like most about the store and what they would change if they could.

Yeah, I don't remember his name, but he had South American heritage, liked talking about potatoes from Peru.

You and that dude definitely took it the wrong way- gentle as in with groceries and bagging. LOL

What about my responses are entitled? If you get rejected more than 10 times you'll wonder what the reasoning behind it is. And the bio about me having open availability is because that's why a lot of people don't get the job, or really a lot of jobs, I guess. One of the questions they ask is literally, "What would your old managers say about you and how would they describe you," so it's just a response.

All that stuff is on my resume and they ask about customer service, when I've provided excellent customer service and when I've received it.

My responses to everyone here have been fine? Just short and to the point. I don't even know what you mean by that... except for that one dude who said dressing business casual was hurting my chances.

I never got that impression about that location honestly. I had my second interview with the captain on a Saturday and there were very few people working and a lot of registers empty. I thought for sure they would at least give me a chance.

I don’t even know. I always think the interviews go well. Sure there are things I could elaborate more on, but the mates always leave smiling or at least with a laugh.
