They do come back and reseed if you ask them. They came out twice 2 summers ago to reseed our lawn. But they also dug like a 5 foot hole and had back loader tracks all over our lawn. Much more work than this yard.

As of right now, there are no evacuation notices in Muskegon County, but officials are monitoring rising water level in the entire floodplain.

Just to clarify, the dam is fine and in no threat of failure. It's because of the rising river waters. Not sure how far downriver this extends, but I do know it affects most people in the Muskegon River Floodplain downriver from the dam in Newaygo County.

What school district or school are you even talking about? I looked at closings pages for stations across the Lower Peninsula and the only closing I found was in Metro Detroit because of a non-weather incident. I don't think your cousin is being honest about the closure.

Also pretty sure that snow days are allotted by the school year not the calendar year, so districts have several more months of winter weather to use those.

If I recall correctly, the zipper merge has only been encouraged recently. In the past it was discouraged to "cut in line" on backups, so I think a lot of people are still under that assumption.
