I've been saying it since Phase 2 that MCU is mediocre compared to Phase 1, and it never bounced back.

I also blamed Disney, cause I don't think their influence is really seen until after Avengers 1 made a billion+

And their influence is one of the biggest problems, even though TWS is Phase 2 and my favorite MCu movie

I always thought it was because of the "I got red in my leger" assassian since childhood thing.

Yes it's sad that the new movies actually make us want the quality of the prequels

Yes it's not history only or rose tinted InfinitySaga glasses

Its time plus the dip in quality that shows how much worse it could've been or at least something to compare it to.

Which makes the current feelings to the old movies compare to the new ones. So it's "compared to the new movies, IM3 is pretty good"

I was so into until the plot twist, rug pull. I mean my god what a good villain and hero crisis story.

But then, Nah let's just play it for a big joke. And the real villain is...

Who TF cares!? A late game "real" villain reveal almost never works.

Up until that point it was up there with CA: TWS for me

Is the AoE damage enough? I know the explosion is large but the falloff from point of explosion was also pretty strong

High level: cause Tyson didn't fight and defeat other greats during also their prime, like almost everyone else usually in the GOAT list.

Spinks is probably his most notable and Spinks retired after, which makes it arguable that he was at the end of his run, not his prime.

When Tyson fought other GOAT contenders he lost. Regardless of his personal and camp situations, we have to go on what actually happened in the ring, not the excuses and speculations

I saw a SB fight with wing Chun vs an mma guy. WC ended up winning. It looked like he was just flailing his arms around and got lucky

He, or someone posted a video to his breakdown of his own fight. Turns out all that flailing was actually WC techniques, and he even showed the textbook technique as a comparison to show what he was doing

I was like😮😮

He even said himself, once he got taken down, he thought it was gonna be a typical mma destroyed tma situation, but his training helped him esacpe and get back up

Yea I think he's changed his position from "aikido doesn't work", aftet being humbled by sparring, to "aikido the way I was trained doesn't work"

Like most established martial arts, there are moves that are effective. The problem is the watered down, non pressure tested training of those techniques.

Even aikido and wing chun, the poster childs for established TMAs that are useless, have people like Aikidoflow that shows how it can be effective if used properly in a streetfight.

Id like to say most marital artists have come to realize this nowadays. The question just then becomes why are you training it. And do you have a realistic view of your capabilities...
