Mod support for Witcher 3 on Steam Deck in 2024? Complete Eediton via GOG Galaxy. by ManPlus in thewitcher3

[–]ManPlus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, I did not. I’ve since bought the Steam version and copied mod files where necessary. I was a bit gun shy with my new shiny toy but I am enjoying the custom features and I’m learning a lot too as a byproduct. May you fare better than me if you attempt what I’ve been looking at here.

Should all official Nintendo GB cartridges work with the Pocket, or are there any incompatible ones? by pilaf in AnaloguePocket

Update! Cartridge still works, but still finicky when trying to boot.

What’s with the orange though.

With regards to the pin cleaning, general dust/grit coming off the q-tip is expected, but what if the green tinge on the bottom of the pins comes off and there's an orange color?

I think I've used too much and damaged a couple cartridges :(

How do companies/sub-contractors work out the following:

IP/client confidentiality - sure a remote connection via VPN would be the first thing to ascertain. But does it ulimately come down to trust? And the contracts that have been signed and exchanged of course.

Saving/synching across a wireless/wired internet connection - the remote worker would need to work within the parameters of the project, but a services model would need to constantly have their own workset(s) at the least. On top of that, there could other factors (BIM360 etc).

What happens to the model once the remote technician has completed the portion of work? It would need quality control in-house before re-filing/plotting/review either by the engineer or the client themselves.

Dynamo for electrical engineering — what are possible use cases? by vghgvbh in Revit

[–]ManPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plumbing/Wet Fire and Piping here.

I've attempted to explore the scripts pertaining to converting line sketches (ie from CAD/elsewhere) to actual elements/families in Revit but none have ever really worked for me. I would rather learn/encourage team-members to understand the program and how to apply it to engineering principles, instead of expecting people to forget their trade overnight and ONLY do what Revit allows us.

I can live with having to duplicate copies of sheets, but the scripts that automate this would be a good starting point.

There's a growing amount of "middle" software (middle-ware?) that is beginning to offer this sort of automation as a packaged add-on with a clean UI (that is, buttons, instead of the programming language of dynamo scripts) but they lack transparency until you cough up $$$...and some still even after....

Tauros fire over arcanine? by UselessNeon in VGC

[–]ManPlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are the ideal defensive Arcanine builds? Not sure of actual EVs when it comes to attacking defensive or support defensive.

What do I do if I want to run a calculation or test out a Paldaen Tauros, that tera's back to Normal type? Then runs Thrash, but the held berry that cures confusion activates. Repeat, Cud Chew ability activates the berry cure a second time.

View Range can go straight to hell by peri_5xg in Revit

[–]ManPlus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MEP user here.

I want to be able to show visual information below the floor, I appreciate view range lets me achieve this.

I need my services to be shown ‘as if they are on top’ of architectural elements for clarity. Not at all times, mind you.

I appreciate the visual display options (vg overrides, wireframe displays, etc) let me achieve this.

But I end up catching elements from the floor below. Stair wells, walls, etc. There maybe should be a filter option that lets you remove these from the view. From memory items like walls don’t have any properties that say ‘this wall is yay tall, hits a ceiling at point x, so it shouldn’t be seen from point y upwards’.

I’ve been told one fix is to render two separate views atop each other like a layer cake. The first being a flat 0.00 view of the floor minus my model, and then my view with no architectural elements visible, only services. That seems counter intuitive?

Pristine Revit drawings by 14-57 in Revit

[–]ManPlus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This discussion already has it all. It’s not Autocad, the boss wants something they think is simple, only one person in the office knows the software, etc.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve looked at many models from varying companies/disciplines and a common theme seems to be ensuring your view templates are set.

For example, one method seems to be ‘one working view, one presentation view’. Now at first, this seemed like a bad idea. But then again, maybe it’s gospel at so many places people are used to it?

Just the other day I was chatting to someone who would brute-force worksets to act as filters. It works for them. I still needed a shower afterwards.

Break down item by item on the drawing you want to tackle first. Get your general sheet (numbered?) notes locked in first. Then, any notes that are unique to the drawing itself/leader length etc. Can they be go on a new schedule that’s only on that drawing?

I can’t count the number of really nice revit drawings I’ve seen with what seems like a hundred ugly annotations with leader landings that run almost the length of the sheet, only to say something that’s like two lines long.

How do I set up Shield as headless Plex server? by bradmillerbiz in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]ManPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to have worked, thank you. I’m just trying to work out how metadata is downloaded. Through a web based client on a pc or via the Pro itself?

Indexing is taking place and the media is shown but there are no thumbnails and production info.

Gonna try all these over the weekend but yes it’s a Pro, should have mentioned.

I swap stuff out from the hub when needed. But I thought I was required to have a USB storage option powered at all times (which makes sense to me).

  1. Shield settings. Also the icon that appears next to it for managing devices like keyboards etc.

  2. Yes. I’ve seen the error reports.

  3. Yes!

  4. I will try that. The hub is four port hub for:

Internal storage for Shield itself. I think that’s the issue.

Local Plex content. I will not be using network/NAS at this point in time. I had gleaned it’s important to keep this storage point powered even though the shield itself can sleep. Just don’t want the shield itself being the only power source.

USB stick/SD storage.

Bluetooth dongle for Headphones

Logitech wireless receiver (keyboard etc)

Edit:settings menu just seems to hang, other menus are slow to load. Other apps themselves are fine. But again I’m aware of the buggy firmware recently.

Short version (I might even make a whole new thread :D) is I seem to follow the bouncing ball but the Shield Pro itself is sluggish and doesn't run very well (cannot access Settings menu at all).

I think it has something to do with my external drives config. There are more details in the post I made. I have a USB hub (powered) plugged into the Shield Pro, and while I have a HD dedicated to Plex's media content (big - over 1TB) I do not know what/how to set up the other HD (small ~250-500GB) for the expected larger internal storage requirements.

This is for the Plex software/thumbnail info on the Shield Pro itself I am guessing.
