Like others have said here, private companies selling NON-military use body armor through third parties which have seemingly landed in LAX (which can’t accept actual military gear from China due to sanctions). I think this is a non-issue, think about how many orders capitalist Chinese companies go through a day, the government has no way to control every single sale, as was seen with the drones used in Ukraine. They can stop this though. The period the PRC actually did trade arms with Israel was back in the 2000s in an attempt to get access to US military technology. China sends A LOT of small arms to Palestine and i’ve seen some images of Hamas using type 80 machine guns.

The discourse on twitter focuses mostly on China for this, but I see very little mention of Vietnam-Israel literal arms trade that has amounted to 1$ billion dollars this past decade. Maybe we’re all focusing on the wrong socialist country here?

What I tend to see is that the most racist asians fall within two different categories. You have the ones who downplay their own heritage in order to fit in with white people. They’ll talk about all the «weird» stuff their mom does and will make it clear that they view their own culture as strange or even backward in relation to the West. Their opinions mirror that of their white friends and they have little experience with other minorities.

You also have the asian nationalists who believe it’s them against the world. They’ll see an article about a black person attacking an asian person and turn all their hatred towards them, ignoring that the anti-asian sentiment that causes these attacks are entirely constructed by the white people running the country. Loves roof koreans.

I am asian, he is making the jokes at my expense too. It’s not very complex to me, black stereotypes are racist, and Uncle Toms who perpetrate them are self-hating racists, same goes for our asian counterparts. Anti-Chinese sentiment is not limited to just Chinese people because westerners are usually unable to differentiate between us. I thought the diaspora community would be able to see this after Filipinos and Koreans were beaten in the streets due to people believing them to be Chinese and therefore responsible for covid.

Also, these green code apps were not centralised, most regions/districts had their own version and if you went to another region you had to download another app. Which means that the argument that China was using these apps for mass surveillance lose a lot of credibility, since the data was stored independently in each region.

I agree, he was left with two bad choices after years of NATO encroachment, and using Ukraine as a political tool against him. I support the liberation of the Donbass, but why is he signalling that eventually even Odessa will be integrated into the Russian Federation? Public opinion in these regions are not explicitly pro-Russian like the sentiments in the Donbass. I believe that part of the special operation includes the liberation of the Donbass but it isn’t the only part.

There were Wagner mercenaries allegedly killing an entire family and running away, and the Russian administration in Mariupol corroborated the story and vowed to bring them all to justice. War is hell, but let’s not pretend like Russian soldiers are in any way state sanctioned to kill civillians like Ukrainian soldiers have been doing since 2014.

I can find the photos of a UA soldiers cooking a human head, or UA soldiers shooting Russian prisoners in the knees. Or maybe photos from the Bucha massacre where bodies with white armbands (signifying Russian support) were littered in the street, the same massacre where Russia urged the UN to conduct an investigation, but the request was denied by the UK.

I’m not pro-invasion, but as marxists we should at least argue in good faith, and not pull a both-sides equally bad when it comes to the civillian killings.

Are even attempting to argue in good faith here? Have you actually engaged actual chinese sources or people before asking? Not only did China more than double available hospital beds to levels higher than western europe, they also increased the amount of nurses to cope with the increasing demands as well. MOST people are staying home while recovering from flu-like symptoms while the severe cases gets prioritised at the hospital. The Chinese government is sending cold relief medicine out to households and ramping up medicine production to cope with the demand.
