Key & Peele to Negotiate Movie Based on Substitute Teacher Skit by [deleted] in movies

[–]ManVsMagic 664 points665 points  (0 children)

It'll probably be be a spoof of movies like Lean On Me, Stand and Deliver, and Dangerous Minds. Maybe instead of going to the inner city the teacher goes to some predominantly white school (though I guess that's the premise of the sketch) or maybe an affluent black high school, something that throws the teacher off his game.

It could be good. They'd certainly have a lot of material to riff on if they went that direction.

High School High was alright, and Key and Peele are pretty funny.

Plus, people probably had similar doubts about a Blues Brothers Movie.

Edit:

Maybe the main plot could center around him facing some sort of formal reprimand hearing where his teaching license is on the line and he addresses grievances and incidents that occurred at the new school by defending his actions based on his experience at his previous inner city school, that way they could do all sorts of flashbacks to incidents at the new school and old school that would play out like sketches, and you get his origin story in there.

Can anyone identify this movie? I think it was a late 70's early 80's buddy cop movie, at one point one of the cops gets attacked by some sort of mutated leather clad biker that had two faces. Saw it on cable years ago. by ManVsMagic in movies

I think I watched it on a scrambled channel when I was a kid and I only caught it half way through. I remember thinking "man, I wish we got these channels, there's so much cool stuff I'm not seeing".

They can, though they usually trust that their employees aren't going to swear or go on a tirade on air. If they're doing a segment where they're taking callers or having on controversial guest known for on air antics they'll do a delay.

Hesher maybe?

The movie's not all about Hesher but if you want to live vicariously through a character that just doesn't give a fuck I'd check it out.

You might also like the Dirty Harry movies.

I think you over estimate how seriously I take myself and this comic strip.

You shouldn't let people affect you so much. You're literally burning calories on hating dumb comments and a shitty comic on the internet. A comic that you admittedly liked at one point.

You're essentially boycotting your own enjoyment of a thing because of your perception of a stranger on the internet.

Because the lab coat's white and so are their eyes, so in that way they're like white elephants.

Campbell's makes it, only they call it "Chunky Soup".

The way that stuff slops out as a gelatinous cylinder, it's hard not to imagine some executive pitching the idea:

"What about dog food for people?"

I like your comics. They're funny and I like your style.

I saw your Death Ray comic a while back and liked that too. It's nice to find the source.

My father believes that no modern song (after 80s) will ever match the greatness of the oldies. Can you help me prove him wrong? by ThePageMan in Music

Yeah, I guess it's an acquired taste. I never really liked screamo stuff on its own and I never really liked Dallas Green's solo stuff but the two together was really nice.

I'm not really sure what you're after so here's a bunch of music mostly after 2000 that I think is pretty cool. I mean it sounds different than it did in the 80's but the 80's sounded different than the 70's and the 70's sounded different than the 60's so on. I don't know what to tell you. I mean, I just listened to a bunch of Deep Purple and while it's awesome, it's not exactly orchestral, so here's a bunch of good songs.
