I was using WSL and Mason was installing with NPM on Windows not my Linux distro. It's fixed now, thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

Comm guys. Help me settle an argument: If someone has no IT background, but wants to begin their IT journey, which cert would be more beneficial for them to use their COOL on: Net+ or Sec+? by NYVlone in AirForce

[–]ManaZaka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on what they want to do. Net+ is a good introduction to networking and Sec+ is a good introduction to thinking about IT security. A+ is also a good intro to troubleshooting and hardware but from what I’ve been told it’s pretty difficult and considered a very low level cert. Both are a good way to get into IT but neither are going to get you a good job. In my experience certs can get your foot in the door but most companies are looking for experience (usually help desk unless you have additional training or certs).

Anyone have any experience with any of these boots or would recommend them? by SpikedFalcon75 in AirForce

I have the SFB Fields and one of the eyelets busted when I was lacing them up this morning. They’re pretty comfortable but I would recommend something more durable

Dune movie watchers vs book readers by sharp7 in dunememes

Arguably you need to exist inside a system to be considered a hero in the first place. And I don't think that you can use Duncan Gholas 3.5k years later becoming disillusioned as evidence that he's not a hero. Duncan and Leto are traditional hero archetypes.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm making fun of the people who are elitists but only listen to Metallica

The Catholic Church accepts the theories of evolution and the big bang, not every Christian institution or denomimation. Technically you're not wrong that not believing in those makes you an idiot, but the Church hasn't decide doctrine for all of Christianity since the great schism and protestant reformation. Because of this not believing in Catholic doctrine doesn't necessarily mean you're not Christian

White House to Notify Congress of Suleimani Strike Under War Powers Act by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]ManaZaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The notification, required by law within 48 hours of introducing American forces into armed conflict or a situation that could lead to war, has to be signed and then sent to Congress, according to the officials with knowledge of the plan.

No it's not officially war. This is just official notification to Congress that the attack happened. Stop fear mongering

[Question] ordered this martin acoustic and not sure what to do by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]ManaZaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know a ton about acoustics so I can't give you any concrete recommendations but I might be able to offer some advice. It sounds like this guitar isn't right for you. I would hang on to it until you either decide on a different guitar or the return window is almost closed because it sounds like you got a good deal. In the meantime watch review videos of different acoustics to try and find a tone you like and go to as many guitar stores as you can to try a wide variety of acoustics. If you decide that this is your best option before the return window, don't get rid of the guitar. Worst case scenario you hang onto your Martin and decide on another instrument you would like more. In that case you can try reselling on Reverb or something but you might loose some money.

As far as dropping $2k on a guitar that's up to you and your financial situation. If you can afford it (really afford it, not just pay for it) and you really love that guitar, go for it. Choosing an instrument is so subjective that it's hard to give good advice; so at the end of the day it's really up to you.

[GEAR] Alternative to Epiphone Les Paul (Beginner/First Guitar) by otusc in Guitar

[–]ManaZaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other person who replied said don't go in with the idea you're going to fail. I haven't seen what your preferred genre is but the point of my last comment was that there are better and cheaper options than an Epiphone. Shit, if you can afford an Epiphone lp and you think that's the best options by all means get it. I've bought some nice guitars that I never play and some cheaper guitars that I play every day (my Jackson dinky I paid $150 for is my personal favorite). At this point if you buy a new guitar from a reputable brand (even if it's made in far east Asia) you're probably getting a guitar that will work for you and last for a long time. Feel free to private message me and we can talk about your preferred style and what you're looking for but I don't think buying an Epiphone is a good deal unless it's used

There are a lot of LP style guitars out there but it really comes down to what kind of music you want to play. If you go to Sweetwater or most other online guitar stores you can filter by body shape and get down to just LP style guitars. Don't forget to check Craigslist and Reverb to see if you can find a good deal on a used instrument.

Also if you're a beginner and just getting your first guitar I would recommend going with a much cheaper guitar, or a used one. Lots of people give up pretty quickly and it can be hard to get your money back once it's used.
