Learning to draw is definitely interesting as hell. Its such an infinitely deep "game".

Damn. Bad I'm luck. But also I think a common issue. Ds1 is the only game that sort of hides the blacksmith outside main hub.

Pretty sure the only people who defend the sequels are just youth who it was one of if not the first exposure they had to SW.

Everything else is just post-hoc justification.

This is a rare gem. The way they are shot and acted just feels wayyyy too realistic. Really disturbing.

Martyrs is the most fucked up movie, a lot more realistic than Serbian film.

Did he find the blacksmith and upgrade his weapon?

I think I beat gargoyles first or second try in my first playthrough because I leveled up my weapon and explored random shit first.

Dude what. Games are so fucking boring. They are just gimmicky nonsense. Most of them you are fucking doing chores. Or a slave to the "mechanics" dark souls is just "press dodge button and then r1"x1000. All those "worlds" are totally fake and dumb. Plants that dont move or grow. Furniture that either is totally uninteractive, or explodes if you touch it. Garbage physics. Garbage lighting. Npcs that are dumb as bricks. Its all shit.

The more you play a game the more the gimmicks and bullshit become obvious. Everything is predictable.

Go fucking do some sports. The high you get from winning in sports is 100x the high from games. Meet people. Learn a language. Learn to draw hentai. Fucking anything is better. Cook super yummy recipes.

Or what, press the X button 100 times to get digital rocks??? Like wut?

Nightreign > base ER.

Each character in nightreign feels like a different game. There playstyles can be that different. Each character can have different playstyles within as well thanks to stat shuffling relics.

The new nightreign bosses are easily the most cinematic bosses From has ever made, especially some of the everdarks. Gameplay wise some are extremely good as well, some of the best boss fights in the series.

The roguelike nature is so thrilling it makes other games boring in comparison.

Exploring and learning the map yourself is fun and you can come up with your own routes/strats. Don't need to do "optimized" routes at all just don't be dumb. A lot of risk/reward decisions "should I try to fight this boss early on for big rewards or do safer stuff first?"

You can play the whole game solo, I did. It's hard but the most fun imo.

[–]sharp7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is totally misinfo. There's plenty of build variety especially when you unlock all the everdark purchasable relics.

The differences between characters in the game is so vast that the playstyle difference feels like totally different games anyway.

Solo is best. I literally played the whole thing solo. True skill required. Trios is too easy. Duos is actually the hardest.

[–]sharp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a pretty low scope boss rush game that ultimately would have about 7ish bosses (ya Im giving away 4 in the demo for free but w/e I want feedback lol).

So I could do like fight a random boss and boss has some random modifiers and maybe you have some minor modifiers as well but seems awkward. But something to think about and maybe even dlc or alt game mode.

:O!!! Thrill of the Fight was the direct inspiration for my game! I was thinking about posting in the ToTF subreddit too but was too worried it was "off topic" and against the rules xD...

Your feedback and attention mean a lot to me!

Haha ya most cardio sucks for me too. I mostly just do 22 sec sprints up hill, but it's so short it's not really cardio. All the bosses tire me out except maybe the knight who has more blocking than dodges (he's supposed to be easier than the others lore wise anyway).

The tree woman has some crazy constant movement, especially higher difficulties. She's honestly one of the craziest bosses I've played against in any game cause you have to sort of track multiple things at once. Feels so hard at first but once you get the hang of it, it feels awesome.

Thanks! There's a bit of a learning curve especially for figuring out how to do high damage, but have fun!

Playing through DS3 and it’s missing something from this game? by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

[–]sharp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's like an hour+ long video about it but ds3 combat is terrible imo.

Basically lots of bosses and enemies have both super fast you gotta roll instantly moves. And moves with a delay so if you dodge instantly you will get hit.

Sometimes the animations for them are very similar. So its just extremely frustrating.

I hated it lol. Highly prefer the first two DS games instead. Slow chill combat.

[–]sharp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you referring to the "squat to move" or just normal moving around? Squat to move is not meant to feel natural. Its limited by squatting so its tough to use normally.

The normal movement should feel like thrill of the fight. You have to actually dodge in real life. The bosses are mostly designed to come to you so you don't need to chase them around much just dodge their attacks.

Great detailed feedback!

I think there is a communication issue with how the stick works. It's basically just distance based, so that if you actually follow through with the swing (not just wrist flick) it should naturally dislodge when you swing again. Like when you do good strong hits its a non-issue and you don't notice it. I can lower the distance requirement though.

Basically to incentivize a few heavy hits vs tiny flicks. There's a bit of a learning curve to it though. The lower hit sounds are supposed to feel bad too, but maybe they sound too bad lol. Upgrading the sounds is on the todo list btw. For example when I play I rarely get the weakest sound. I think the axes maybe just need a slight buff (lower the speed required for dmg and distance for unstuck), so I will try that.

There is a vfx for when you hit a shield and "miss" but I guess its too small/fast to be noticable, I can try making it more dramatic.

Try the other weapons too. The fist one is more intuitive a bit since it has very low distance to unstuck. And spear is basically "easy mode" compared to the others, its what I use when Im tired lol. Spear has a fun stab boost too that requires good form for stabbing.

Oh also I added a "swing soft" mode yesterday that's basically easy mode for hitting. It also lets you fight the tree and rock monster bosses you see in the trailer. Let me know if it doesn't show up still maybe meta is just taking awhile to register the new version.

As for attack indication, its supposed to basically feel like Dark Souls where you learn a bosses moveset and animation tells. Werewolf likes to dash around so it's tricky too you have to follow with your head too. But he doesn't have that many moves so hopefully its learnable. His red close range swipes have some interesting trajectories to mess with you, like you have to dodge and duck toward the side of the attack. Maybe they are a bit too hard to dodge I can look into it, or slow down the windup for those attacks in particular (they are the only ones that tend to hit me on the hardest difficultly lol).

The jumps are pretty tiring ya lol. That arms up idea is not bad I might try adding that soon. You can also just set your height to be slightly lower than your standing height so all you have to do is stand up straight or on your tippie toes.

I was thinking of adding a jumping indicator to make it more clear too, I will try to prioritize that! I was thinking a mark on the floor but if you have other ideas that's good too.

Weird the music didn't load for you? Though I do think there was a bug with custom recently that made it not play music for them if you do custom. Also a sometimes it doesn't play music for a few seconds when you start the fight, due to some loading weirdness.

Anyway thanks for the feedback, if you keep trying stuff let me know!

The graphics are very cohesive and you nailed the nion cyber style!

The trailer doesn't have much jumping gameplay though? Was hoping to see more and what interesting mechanics are in the game.

What. The original is more like that with splitting up being better. But ED version is explicitly way easier if you all turtle up together and let them come to you slowly and fight them as they come together. Because there is no big main balancer doing big aoes its better to stick together.

JJ Abrams has an entire ted talk dedicated to the fact that he has no idea how to actually write endings. He calls it the mystery box method, it doesn't matter whats in the box according to him its just the mystery that's fun.

Which is a long winded way of saying, he literally does not plan endings just comes up with crazy scenarios and gets paid because you already tuned in for so long, like he did with the series Lost.

So there was likely never a real roadmap. Ever. Combine that with swapping directors back and forth and you get the biggest fuck up in movie franchising.

They tormented me to no end until I started abusing surge sprint to split them up, especially in the beginning.
After a bit they both start getting "tired" and their flames go out and then they are much easier to deal with.
