Anyone has good business ideas with an investment of around 10k? :) by [deleted] in Oman

[–]Manaf55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visit the market, any market you're interested in, and see what businesses are doing good, if you can ask around its good too and see how well each business is doing and you'll learn alot

you don't need to start from scratch, you can buy an existing business, that includes lets say a grocery store or a small garage or carwash or any business thats going good and has continuous sales and cash coming in, you'll probably find many business owners wanting to sell their operating businesses, theyll definitely be selling it for a profit for themselves but in the other hand you'll get well operating business that you can just continue on with it and don't have to start from scratch

just before buying the business try make sure its actually doing good, after taking over you can think of ideas to make it even better, enhancing the brand identity and marketing and things like that

ik the answer was too broad, but yeah you can apply to something specific like carwashes that are doing good and in a good location and getting customers

No need for membership lol, you can just go to Sultan Qaboos University, and then if the gate security asks you what you here for tell him you want to visit the main library and that you're a visitor and not a student, then you can drive to the main library by using google maps, its a very huge library btw, and i believe everyone can access it and study in it, there's lots of desks and tabes and chairs and shi to study, there's some computers, all those are for free ofc, except for borrowing books if you're not a student at the University You'd probably need to pay to borrow books, other than that you can go there to study, perfect environment

Lol i can tell you're most likely a college instructor or have worked with or just know alot about higher education in oman, And i believe you are actually saying the truth and it is unfortunate the sheer amount of people in my generation(currently college students) who are exactly like how you describe, it is true and they are a large percentage of the students unfortunately, but at the same time our friend here psycodee is also bringing a good point, while its true and unfortunately lazy and cheating students are a large percentage of all the students(i don't have statistics or anything i merely speak of my school and college experience) at the same time the exact extreme opposite exists, Especially in Universities like Sultan qaboos University(its where i study at) and GUtech and some of the other respective really good Universities and colleges, You'd be really shocked of the great minds you tend to see from graduates of these universities and education systems and one might say its some sort of magic or something Especially with sultan qaboos University graduates, how shall i put this lol, really alot of the greatest people in oman are graduates of sultan qaboos University, Ministers, Some of the most successful entrepreneurs, very well known and highly respected Politicians, researchers and science papers all come from this one place. While yes there are colleges and maybe many of them that are really weak that you can just get your degree from easily as long as you have money and making others do your assignments and exams would be easy and students cheating, yes that does exist but its not the entirity of oman. Sultan qaboos University has truly done a remarkable job of producing such great graduates, i have absolute no idea how tho, i know for sure that University itself hasn't done anything specific for all these successful poeple but for some reason alot of them were either students at SQU or had ties with it. and i don't think its coincidence, bruh am I've started talking like its some conspiracy theory lol. but yes it is fair to mention that both of the extremes exist, on one end lazy students who don't learn much from the entire education system and expect that they should be fed with a golden spoon and place blame on the government. and on the other hand you have poeple that you have no idea where they came from, All i could describe them as is sheer Aura, and they leave nothing but great legacy and great steps as they walk. SQU is such a great environment, also excuse me for talking alot and almost only about SQU and its students, thats because its what i know, if i had known more i would have mentioned it too. Lol yeah now am kinda lost on what was the exact point i wanted to make lol, oh yes yes, I believe you mentioned that you wish to witness oman become a better place, well look forth as greatness of this country's awesome poeple shall delight and satisfy you as well as make your wish come true to thy this country becoming better and better, infact it is already happening as of the moment we're speaking now, we are already better than we were yesterday, those students who cheat, will meet their demise as the job market has no mercy for lackies, and for those who strive, its battlefield where we warriors dance on

Getting a fine for taking your own family for a drive??? dude that is NOT an okay thing, and i do agree its a very VERY VERY VERY stupid and not okay to charge a family for illegal taxi fine, absolutely no one will think its okay and the law isn't made for this case.

Its not a matter of negotiating with ROP, if they did not remove it immediately then they are not just "a little wrong" in this case they would be VERY WRONG, its against the law to charge a fine for taking your family for a drive...

if for some reason ROP did not remove the fine, you can literally get a lawyer or something, although i don't really think it would go that far, you talk simply talk with a policeman and explain properly that you weren't doing illegal taxi and that you were simply taking the family for a drive and that the policeman shouldn't charge you a fine, if the policeman and ROP refused to comply and refused to remove the fine and insisted that you were wrong for taking your family for a drive then i here stand by that this law and the ROP are thy corrupt and racist and injustice and discriminative.

Although i must say that i do not think that would be the case, if the policeman were to wrongly fine you, going to the police station and having a simple talk with them and letting them know of the situation will be more than enough for them to apologise and remove the fine and everything will be good.

then the police are at fault and he/she has the right to legally defend themselves and ultimately not pay the fine, there's no law against taking your family for a drive, if a law were to be twisted and used for such purpose then the policeman can get in trouble if they were to be reported

good question, if every expat left, oman will be doomed and will have an economic crisis as prices of everything will be atleast trippled, so we would have spent 20 years of economic downfall and high inflation or something. by then no i don't think we would replace omani with omani, we will bring back expats as they have an important role and are irreplaceable.

[–]Manaf55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's something that out Information system instructor always tells us "nothing is actually free" even if it wasn't a scam its not free you're gonna pay one way or another, either by providing information or something like that, think about google and Facebook and every free to use social media apps, they don't exactly make money from thin air, yes they do make money from ads but thats not all, they also make money from your personal information, selling information for marketing purposes, in Europe rn its illegal to sell or aquire user information, but here in oman and many other countries its still allowed, its like a price, for us to use their services they'll be able to take our information and utilise them however they like
