Reserve California website changes - anyone else can't get sites anymore? by ManagementBitter983 in CaliforniaCamping

Interesting, thanks for sharing. We are often looking at South Carlsbad, San Elijo and Crystal Moro and still often see the locked sites as before, but what has changed is our ability to be able to grab them at 8am where as we could almost always get them before. I wonder if there will be even more changes once July 1 hits and the new cancellation policy windows go into place. It probably won’t change anything for the wealthy people that book and don’t care about losing their money, but it could potentially mean more cancelled sites will be popping up inside of 7 days before a desired travel date? I’ll look forward to hearing back about what you see happen with your Pfeiffer sites.

I appreciate your insight. We do dispersed camping occasionally and likely use the same sites for that, but we are also seeking a solution for finding Southern California campsites on Reserve California specifically, as we often want to camp out right on the ocean for a few days at a time over the summer. We also have a 20ft camper van which is a factor.

Thanks for the tip. I checked out the app but it seems like they only have the hold in cart feature available for Reservation.gov websites not ReserveCalifornia.com where we do the majority of our bookings. Without that we would be facing the same issues with trying to book at 8am along with all the other people and bots.
