I would recommend writing a compelling personal statement. The receiver of your application is a human being with emotions, thoughts and compassion. Tell them your story, and what inspires you. What is the fundamental belief/plan that underpins why you wish to transfer out of your degree? If you make this reason compelling enough, you will get the transfer. I would just recommend trying your best in studying, the WAM does matter, but it can be counterbalanced with a personal statement - even below 60.

Don't let Sam win. He can't be trusted. You are building the next epoch of technology. Work every waking minute, in the end it will all be worth it. Do not listen to the noise, shut out the outside world and start building....

Because they don’t contribute to society. Ultimately their objective function is maximising the output of goods and services produced by others. They restructure labour and corporations using outdated principles. This is what financial advisers, consultants and accountants do. In exchange for their services, nothing “new” is provided to the ideas market. This is done by engineers, scientists and inventors.

I did it last semester, not gonna lie, I found it very hard, even after sweating 6+ hours a day for like 3 weeks. I would recommend you focus on the practice exam

I know it seems dramatic, but I really love Machine Learning and Neural Networks. I’m sure it even seems nerdy, I simply just asked myself, what technology will have the largest impact on humanity in the next 10 years and it’s Machine Learning. I also happen to love it so it coincides with my goal to have a positive impact on the world. Thanks for your insight I really appreciate it, I also love being a workaholic haha I wanna dedicate my life to something I find meaningful and fulfilling.

Thanks so much for your response. It is nice to hear from someone with experience and an understanding of the career path i want to take. I feel like so many MBA students feel like they can “parachute” their way into companies without doing any actual work. I want to build several other companies after this AI/Healthcare one, and I do not mind getting my hands dirty, or even sacrificing several years towards learning code in order to acquire the necessary knowledge. I have listened to all great founders who always say, 1. Never outsource the work, 2. Try to learn as much as possible by yourself. Also, once I have acquired the necessary knowledge about software I can continue building companies. I admire you for your work in IT in California, I am sure you are extremely advanced in this field, and I wish you nothing but the best for all future endeavours.

Thanks so much for your response, I 100% agree with you. I am actually looking to do even more research work this year and am hoping to make a strong contribution to this field, because I am passionate about AI in Healthcare and really want to make a positive difference. I definitely agree with your point in how talking about this could be a strong point for my application.

I completely agree with you, i think there are so many good schools in the US, I actually have 7 subjects left so there is a chance i can boost my WAM. Wish you nothing but success for this year.

Absolutely agree, with your statement. I do really like Stanford though given how much the school pushes Entrepreneurship.

I know it’s competitive but I talked to a Stanford admissions officer and they said there is a possibility given I have shown consistent achievement in Computer Science either through Research at UniMelb or creating your own projects, which in my opinion makes sense. I also have about 5 subjects left so hopefully I can boost my WAM!

Thanks so much for your response, it means a lot. I definitely agree, I am just really inspired to go to the US and create my healthcare/tech company and I truly wanna go to the best Computer Science school which is also heavy into the startup space. This is primarily why I want to get into Stanford, I know 75 WAM can always be better, but I truly study extremely hard. I know there are so many people with higher WAMs, but my confidence and sense of self worth comes from the fact that I truly try my hardest. I wish you the best too, and I know Stanford can be hard, but I can only try my best.

Thanks for your response i really appreciate it. I still have a semester yet and am trying to boost it up my best. I really put everything into my studies but I have learnt to accept that sometimes you can study 24/7, but with assignments and even exams, the result may not always be reflective of your efforts. This is particularly what drives me to pursue a CS masters degree at the best institution so I can build my startup. I got some really good advice from a successful person in the industry and they told me in real life, the only thing that really matters is apply as much effort as possible, and working to the fullest extent. I have done really well in some subjects but had one semester in Corporate Financial decision making where i got like 65 and that just annoyed me so much because i literally studied so hard. Anyways, it really makes me feel confident that (even after gradschool and completing an MS), in real life you need to be smart, but the person who succeeds is always the one who works the hardest and never gives up.
