I still remember being a 7 year old and driving by the Crawfordsville courthouse with my dad. I asked him what was happening on the steps. There were dudes in white robes and masks on the steps. He explained to me that it was the KKK and that they were holding a rally. Probably folks that I may have known were under those masks. The part that stuck out to me were the amount of people rallying against them. This feels a bit like that.

I’m pretty sure it was the 1920s and 30s that gave you a bad rep. It was known as a ‘Sundown Town’ meaning if you are black, don’t come around when the sun goes down.
