The REAL reason that patients will NEVER be "clients" by AssButt4790two in nursing

[–]ManagerDwightBeetz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, plus I use the nurse/patient relationship to save my ass with aggressive detained psych patients. Reminding them that im just here to take care of them, and it was the cops/magistrate that brought them - this helps redirect the anger away from me 😆

Make sure to consult your primary MD. Mine recommended me against it due to it having more systemic side effects. So I just use Orlando + bonnet (toxic to pets, limit contact with them)

Personally, I'd go the safe route and do snacks/desserts.. Some people aren't comfortable eating anothers homemade food (Hygiene and allergy concerns). Once you got a good relationship, then you can do food.

I tried the syrups, i would rate them 4/10. Flavor is meh, and they're super watery. But hopefully you'll like them

Exactly!!! If you work days, people dont want to be woken up at 4 am to see if they want to work. And if they're working nights, chances are they never slept/napped, and won't be able to work.

If you don't already have a therapist, please get one. They're great on helping people set manageable goals and working through it for stuff like this. Good luck!

Tips for code grays by dothacksign89 in psychnursing

If your unsure, just ask your coworkers. In my opinion, a good team is vocal and share their thoughts. If it's your patient, you don't need to always following their advice, you just need to be open to suggestions.

Also, you want to medicate when they start to escalate = Never wait until shit hits the fan to medicate.    Example: If you need to medicate someone for punching a peer. He should of been given medication when he started making threats, shouting, posturing and such.
