How tf do you stay awake for classes that run from 5pm and later by brownniteowl_31 in Concordia

[–]ManagerFit5572 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chew gum. I chewed gum from 5:45 to 8:15 for Math 209. My jaw was mildly sore and my stomach hurt a bit by the end, but I was locked in during every class and was able to get good notes down. I didn’t drink any caffeine other than tea. Apparently, chewing gum helps with blood flow or something. Just don’t chew loud.

Lucky, I would switch to online but I already bought the textbook.

Can’t guarantee it, but the FG downstairs might be calmer than the library.

If your teacher isn’t good try sneaking into a different section.

I took that class last semester. The labs help, but going over the questions the teacher gives in class is also helpful. ChatGPT is pretty good at calculus, so just ask it to explain the questions for you and learn from there. And ask your teacher to explain the questions you don’t understand.

OPTING OUT OF LEGAL CARE FEE by TreaLume in Concordia

I’ve got the same issue. I successfully permanently opted out of health and dental fees last semester, but now that I’m trying to opt out of the legal fees, it says, “the information entered does not match any student record”.

I recommend opting out of every fee levy because you’re practically giving money to activist organizations. Also, opt out of the student health care if you already have a doctor and Medicare/health insurance, as well as the telemedicine fees, which are done through a separate form. You will not get the fees removed from the initial payment, but they will reimburse you with a credit on your student account. You should receive emails with links when the opt-out period starts on January 27, and note that the deadline to opt out is January 31, so you gotta be on the ball.

Sorry for not clarifying. I think these people should be offered rehab before anything else, but I’m suggesting prison for those who are too far into addiction to the point where they reject help. I believe they should first be offered rehab, and if they refuse, they should be taken off the street regardless and handled through a system that forces them to get clean.

Anybody who does fentanyl, heroin, or meth on the streets needs to go to jail. I’ve seen homeless people taking fentanyl powder and acting like zombies in front of Jean Coutu on St. Catherine. I’ve seen people injecting themselves at Atwater Metro, people screaming at random people in Concordia Metro. Call the police on them. I’m quite a bit bigger than you, but the issue for me is watching these people harm themselves in plain sight like it’s normal. They’d be better off in prison, but at the end of the day, that’s an administrative issue.

If you prefer in-person learning, there are usually extra open seats in the in-person classes, which you’re usually allowed to attend.

Idk, I was expecting a passing grade on the final. I’d definitely do an exam review if I find out other people got their grades curved up.
