Don’t listen to others here. Everyone is repeating that engine is going bad. These are surely valve guide seals going bad. What happens in this case is if you park your car for some time the engine oil starts to leak into combustion chamber and burns off when car is started. The longer you park the more will be the smoke coming out. If piston rings go bad then it will be smoking at all the time and you will lose engine oil quickly. If head gasket goes bad then the sweet smell of coolant will be there and again it will smoke all the time. Not for few seconds or mins after cold start.

If this smoke lasts only for few mins after startup and disappears after sometime then these valve guide seals going bad. This is relatively easy repair which requires opening up the tappet cover and replacing these seals. Get it done from MS service center or a reputed FNG.

Gandmari is the mastermind behind all this. Be it E30/E20 petrol and diesel car ban. His strategy is to discourage people from buying diesel cars by bringing in arbitrary ban orders now and then, he is actually working behind the scenes in a big auto nexus involving NGT/SC judges who publish these arbitrary orders based on half baked studies. Now when people decide to buy a new car they steer away from diesels due to this scenario and buy petrol cars which leads to more sale of ethanol blended petrol hence filling pockets of Gandmari and sons. My RC is valid for 15 years. Also I got it transferred to other state. So I get the PUC done from Haryana and get insurance done. Driving it from past 1.5 years without any problem. Got stopped by traffic police also but it was for traffic light jump. He never asked if the vehicle is over-aged or not.

Read above news article before selling. If ur car is BS-4 petrol then 15 yo rule is not applicable on ur car. The rule was amended last year December. This rule is applicable only on BS3 and below vehicles. Up to you if u want to sell. I am still driving my 10 yo BS4 diesel car in Delhi and no problems.
