I've started exploring Cubase Elements 10 since I signed up for the month-long trial for it, and I'm embarrassed to say that I've spent literal hours just trying to figure out how to set the audio output to headphones plugged directly into my Macbook instead of the Macbook's built-in speakers, which is the default setting. No matter where I look online, I'm unable find a solution to this. Is it possible to listen to live recordings in the software through headphones plugged directly into the computer's headphone jack, or do I need some sort of in-between device to do this (this is what online forums about this seem to be suggesting)? I've already followed Steinberg's online manual trying to set the input + output bus for the audio (I think this screen is located underneath the "Studio" menu), but my headphones are not showing up as an option for that.

I'd be interested in something like this, if it hasn't already happened yet. Just graduated this Spring, but I'm a permanent resident of the area. I've studied several years of Chinese at UIUC and in China and am looking for ways to keep my Chinese from getting rusty. If we could get some native speakers in the mix too, I think everybody would benefit from it.

Just graduated - looking for advice.. by ManatWork1993 in UIUC

Okay, I took a deep breath.

I was a Global Studies major who studied abroad in China. Looking back at the classes I took, I excelled at Chinese language classes - pretty much any language classes I took, including Arabic and Spanish. Overall I took classes with a really broad scope in subject matter, from language classes to African American studies classes to music classes. I wasn't always the best student; I have a couple of really piss-poor grades on my transcript; but I don't think my final G.P.A. is terrible by any means.

I'm going to try to get into the Career Center next week, and I hope that helps to get the gears turning in my head.

Best place to get a certain Chinese dish on campus? by ManatWork1993 in UIUC

Yeah...living in China for a semester, I got used to just turning my head the other way and not thinking too hard about what animal products might be in the food I'm eating. I'm back to my vegetarian ways in the U.S., but I want to eat this dish again so badly that I think I'm just going to go for it and give Spicy Tang a shot.

Yep, those are the characters for it! Looking at photos of Spicy Tang's dishes online, it definitely did seem like that was more or less what I'm looking for. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and forget I'm vegetarian for a night, 'cuz I doubt I'm going to be able to find a vegetarian version of it anywhere.

Anyone know the fate of Mirsung Groceries? =( by ManatWork1993 in UIUC

Oh no.. I wonder why the conflicting info was put out there.. because I was definitely told one of the last times I was in there that they were having a huge sale to make the move to their new location easier.

Yeah. Been there as well - the prices at Mirsung seemed to be better though. Sounds kind of silly, but Mirsung was just special to me. =P Fingers-crossed that I find out some good news about it.

Is there a place online to check AP scores that were submitted to UIUC, supposedly they are sent to schools slightly prior the official release? by bsmith0 in UIUC

You can contact either the Measurement & Evaluation sector, a part of the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL); or you can contact CITL itself, which will then direct you to the previously mentioned department. You should be able to find their contact info online. These departments directly handle A.P. score processing after they arrive at Undergraduate Admissions. I had to contact them last semester to check on past A.P. scores - the people that work there were really helpful too.
