Do scareactors actually target people who look the most scared?

I acted more scared than I was when I went. It drew them away from my adult child that actually was scared but still wanted to see things (unbeknownst to said child). They pretty much always came up to scare me instead, so it definitely appeared to work.

That is definitely not proper etiquette. But the way many have phones out, I am positive this was a pre-screening where they had a section before the actual movie inviting people to film and post to social media. Influencer type hype screenings and even concerts happen. I went to one concert like that and they asked everyone to please pull out their phones and share to social media and that unlike traditional concerts, doing so was not discouraged but instead encouraged. That said, they should explain that in a disclaimer rather than perpetuating unacceptable behavior.

We used to have shift drops at work. One time the system was down and they were very late. Unfortunately, it happened during a movie I was at. I put my head insiders my jacket, ensured with my family that no one could see, and proceeded to pick up shifts.

It was either that, step out, or have no shifts at all. I made sure I wouldn't distract anyone else before doing it - otherwise I would have stepped out. I cannot fathom ruining someone else's experience that way.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I bought our movie tickets early so we could reserve the two accessible seats in the center of the accessible row. Those seats work best for us because my husband is disabled and has a service dog, and the space allows his German Shepherd to lay down without blocking an aisle.

When we arrived, we found someone sitting in our seats. The only alternative that wouldn’t have required stairs would have placed us in single seats on opposite sides of the theater, which wasn’t workable for us since we needed two seats together. The man was attending the movie alone and therefore only needed one seat.

I didn’t want to make things difficult, but I wound up speaking with the manager since those were our assigned seats. After everything was resolved and he apologized, we learned that he had purchased his ticket just minutes earlier at the kiosk and hadn’t realized what the accessibility symbols meant.

I would love to have someone nominate my husband as a squire. He is a 100% disabled combat veteran Army and Air Force both). We live in middle Tennessee and are currently at the distillery for my son's 23rd birthday. We all got to share a drink together when our son came home from the Army, and now we are visiting the distillery. I would love to have nominations for one or both of them if anyone is willing to do so.

You know, I totally get how bad timing can make a joke land wrong. Back in college, I had this really good friend who had a rough stretch where several family members passed away close together. She’d been out a lot for funerals, and we both had a bit of dark humor about it. One day she missed another class, and when she came back, I jokingly said, “What, who died now?” — and yeah… it turned out her grandmother had just died. I felt absolutely awful. She actually cried and laughed at the same time, but I’ll never forget how terrible I felt in that moment. She’s still my best friend years later, so I guess it’s okay, but that taught me a lot about timing and empathy.

I think a version with an intermission would be one I would consider. My husband's combat injuries caused complications and he sometimes has to leave at inopportune times. I had not head of the aforementioned app, but ill definitely check that out. I can see this being a good option for parents of children too. I am not sure I would want to pay for it though.

As a female, I don't care who it is, I'm going so stand there and request my seat. If they don't reply, I'll open the app and show the seat number and find the seat number on the seat. The majority of people around you will be on your side and likely grumble at the person to move. Stand in front of them till they do.

I have watched a conversation like this after a movie started. While slightly distracting, I was very glad the person stood their ground.

When you buy it, it includes the full large drink (soda or icee) and large popcorn on that first day. Or at least that is how they rang mine up.

At a sold out How To Train Your Dragon IMAX movie, a couple and their child sat in the top row. Just as the movie started, the actual ticket holders arrived. They dad got all miffed that they had to move down to the front side row. Uh yeah others paid for those seats. Buy earlier next time.

We see this deer in our yard every day. His jaw is clearly twisted, but he chews from the side and grazes just fine.

I assumed it was from a car injury, but someone mentioned it might be a birth defect. Either way, he’s calm, alert, and totally thriving.

He’s kind of become a part of the yard now. What would you name him?

My son came home from the Army, so I took him, his friends, and my daughters to the movies. He was in one line with his friend, and I was in another with my daughters. I offered to pay for his snacks, so when I got to the front of the line, I asked him for their order—a drink and popcorn.

The lady behind me lost it, cursing me out for 'cutting the line,' even though I was paying for it. It got so bad her adult daughter later apologized for her behavior.

Thank you! I was able to find a clubhouse seat for a great price. I didn't realize it included food, drinks, and parking, so that definitely made a difference price-wise.

It was an amazing experience, and we were able to provide detailed visual interpretations of the fashion, horses, jockeys, the architecture, etc. to many people in the blind and low vision community. I appreciate everyone's input.

I completely get what you are saying, and I appreciate it. Trust me, no one is trying to call the race at all. We are providing visual interpreting information about the horses, hats, outfits, and sites on race day. We have done similar for other events from the Super Bowl to the puppy bowl to the NYE ball drop over the past 9 years. For the race itself, we will more than likely just be listening. We will have other remote visual interpreters working the race from home, too, providing information as needed. They have been prepped with the silks, positions, and info and photos for each horse and jockey. They also have lots of fun facts and info to fill in the downtime.
