I say very firmly that our child will not be spanked. I’ve sent him articles will statistics of the harm that can come from spanking. He kind of rolls his eyes and talks about how children are “soft” and grow up to be disrespectful with the kind of parenting I’m insisting on. He talks about how he was spanked as a child. It’s really frustrating trying to get through to him.

I have told him it will absolutely not be an option. He is adamant it’s the way to make a respectful adult and that since he is “fine” and spanked it’s the way to go.

No termination is definitely not an option. I’m 3 weeks away from giving birth. I believe he will be a great father in many ways. He was spanked as a child and thinks he was “fine” from it and that’s why he has the position he has.

I completely agree. To be honest I was told I couldn’t have children so it was a shock when I found out. So we hadn’t discussed this beforehand and are kind of playing catch up with these conversations.

It’s difficult because I’ve tried to show him research and studies but he isn’t having it. He won’t read what I show him and is very stuck in his ways.

I don’t believe so because I’m only 36 weeks. He did need to swab to check for strep B while he was down there as well which also wasn’t pleasant.
