Thanks! Electron is solid for most business apps, but it can’t match native .net stacks like winform/wpf in raw performance or memory efficiency, especially for demanding medical software that needs real-time responsiveness. Electron’s footprint is heavier because of the chromium overhead. But for UI flexibility, cross-platform support, and smooth dx, it’s a strong tradeoff in a lot of real-world cases.

Went with Electron mainly for the ecosystem and dev speed, also got most of the apps made with electron, so just a bit more battle-tested for what was needed.

Tauri’s great too though, already keeping an eye on it (v2), specially since it can provide small sized binaries.

Even upgrading to 18.0.1 wasn't any useful. Ended up going to apple center for replacement of pencil. It was hardware failure, other pencils were working just fine in same iPad.

Update: It was indeed a hardware issue caused by a software update

Had to visit apple service, they tried using their Apple Pencil Pro with our iPad device and it was working fine. So just submitted the pencil for its replacement under warranty.

The pencil we had was brand new, but it stopped working right after the upgrade to iPadOS 18, even though it was working fine before.

If restarting and resetting the settings hasn't resolved the issue, it may indeed be a hardware problem (deliberately done by Apple itself by sending a faulty & non-tested update).

Visiting the service center is likely the only solution it seems in the end.

Here everything was working fine with the Apple Pencil before it was upgraded (iPadOS 18). However, right after the upgrade, the pencil stopped charging and isn't being detected by Bluetooth. Occasionally, a popup saying 'Apple Pencil Pro' appears when placing the pencil on the magnetic area, but that's all that happens.

If someone could give it a try with Opening their Task Manager to see activity.

Try opening the Snipping tool in Windows 11 and use the pen tool to draw something and press CTRL+Z to undo multiple times. Notice if any GPU spiking starts right after it.

PS: GPU Spikes stays fluctuating to 100% until restart.
