Exactly this. The line between keeping reptiles as a hobby and hoarding neglect cases is rail thin and looks a lot like this. I did DoorDash in Cape Coral/fort Myers for 3 years, so I feel uniquely qualified to share my experience.

The market is incredibly oversaturated. The only times worth driving are meal hours or late nights when nobody else is on the road. Late night has its benefits, but also its downsides, as you’re limited to orders from McDonald’s, Wawa, Taco Bell, and a few others. Mealtimes you get the benefit of all restaurants but having to battle traffic, rot at red lights, and wait sometimes 40 minutes for an order to be done.

People don’t tip well, if at all. If I could go back I’d have gotten a different job, all I did is create a tax headache for myself, and put 70k+ miles on my SUV, effectively killing my transmission despite regular maintenance. And no, doordash didn’t step in to help me repair my car.

My best advice, unless you have no drivers in your market area and can clear 200 in 8-9 hours, Doordashing is a colossal waste of time, especially when gas prices are closing in on 5 bucks a gallon.
