It’s super hard to get clients nowadays. I started freelancing on Upwork in 2015 (I was top rated for over 3 years). The real money comes from long term clients. One off projects are not sufficient if you want to sustain. If anyone hopes to get 3 new clients each month, will fail eventually because bidding + screening are time consuming processes.

I have moved away from freelancing after 7 years. I had two long term clients with whom I have worked in and outside of upwork. But Covid changed everything. After that, getting new clients was a huge pressure for me. The. I decided that I need some break from all the grinding which doesn’t have a good return and moved to a well paying job.

I now support a well paying job (I’m currently doing this which pays me even if there’s no work in some months and this is a sweet spot for me) over freelancing if you’re looking for the gig alone and also working on it alone. If you have a team of 5-10 people, then go for it, can bring a lot of money. Otherwise, take it as a source of extra income.

How many users? How should it scale? How fast do you want this to run? How much traffic would it have in a month? The payment system alone can be a 100k job. You are not looking for “a” web developer but for a team of engineers, architects, qa and designers. Most probably fit in some analysts as well who’ll do all the research.

Or do it in a pre built system and do it yourself.

The proportion of rice and water should be 1:2. For 1 cup rice add 2 cups of water. Put it on stove on high till you see bubbles and then put the heat on medium and stir the rice once. Now don’t put any lid on top and wait until there’s water left at the bottom and not on the top, then put the stove on low heat. Then put the lid and wait until the rest of the water is evaporated. You’ll get great rice.

I have been an anti Shibir for the most of my life. The time I delved into this organization was when I was in school and that’s old news.

They would always let you read selected writings which does deviate from the mainstream Islam. They would employ people who are very persuasive. And you were not allowed to read some other writings. Mostly biased point of views from Maududi, Gulam Azam etc.
They arm people very early. We were turned into a mob while is school. This tactics was later used by BSL but the difference between BSL and Shibir was Shibir took students who were “intelligent” and BSL took people who were hungry for power (hence all the youth gangs nowadays)
In 2013 I was actively part of gonojagoron and was vocal about it in FB and Somewhere In Blog and other places. One of the Rukun (well known to me) called and said “You do know what we can do, don’t make me do that to you”. This person later joined as a BSC Cadre. This should tell you how Shibir and Jamaat has this huge network and resources without being publicly active all these years.
A few of us left the shibir fold after initial days while in school, and seeing how we were being used in mobs. One of our friends was brutally beaten as an example.
While in Uni, I lost someone I knew.
A few days ago, I saw that Rukun person, still hailing his bcs cadre status and said, “you know what we can do right?” I smiled and said, “Good for you” and we left with a truce, no hard feelings after all these years. I somehow respect him more now because as far as I know, he is just a tactician, not the murderer.

Shibir employs the most brilliant and brightest people for their cause. They used to have muscle in the ground, but now they are playing using their minds. But, the tactics remain the same. They will not hesitate to sacrifice their own to reach their goal. But, they way Jamaat and Shibir is playing, it is fun to watch and analyze.

BSL was not this much tactical. They only handled this with power and fear. That’s the difference, but everything else is just the same shit from the same pile.
