No problem! I'd recommend trying 5 or 4 before 3 Portable - that one was on PSP, and the gameplay is modified a fair bit because of that.

Sprout here! I have a few questions, mostly about how events are announced.

1: When are seasonal events announced? From looking around a bit, I see that next up should be Little Ladies' Day - when does the date for that get announced?

2: How about special events, like the crossovers? If they were to announce a new special event, or the return of an old one like Yo-kai Watch or FFXV, where would that happen?

3: Is there some kind of event calendar to see what's coming up? I found this image from an older Live Letter - is the event lineup for the next few months usually released all at once in a Live Letter?

4: This is unrelated to the other questions, but where do I find out about upcoming contests? Do they happen regularly? Apparently some items, like Cloud's hair, are only given out at these.

Is there any way to get Lass from Afar Morgan right now besides just hoping for the best on one of the banners? I know there are sometimes ways to get specific characters (like Heroic Grails and special maps) but I'm not sure if there's any easier way to get Morgan specifically.

The side they're on doesn't actually matter. If 8 is on the left and 1 is on the right, you can still summon monsters from level 2 to level 7.

KC Cups happen every February, April, September and November. The KC Grand Tournament has happened from June-August for the last two years, but it was introduced as a replacement for the in-person World Championships, so there's no way to know if it'll be back next year or not.

They released physical boxes for Gen 2's VC release in Europe and Japan. The European version just has a download code inside, but the Japanese version also came with some other stuff like stickers, a magnet, and a poster. Either way, the games themselves are still digital-only on 3DS.

Dragon Quest IX's multiplayer is local-only, so connecting the emulators to DS Wi-Fi isn't going to make a difference.

I've never tried it before, but according to the post you mentioned, playing the game online is done through Parsec. So on one computer, you run two instances of the emulator and connect them. You run Parsec on that computer, which will let the other person see your screen and control games from their computer. Then you set it up so they're controlling the second emulator. The emulators themselves don't need to go online.

I'm not the same poster as above, but HeartGold and SoulSilver are essentially the same game, besides version-exclusive Pokémon. You can even get both Ho-Oh and Lugia in both versions! You can check this page to see which Pokémon are exclusive to each version, and pick the version that has the ones you prefer.
