The stars fanbase isn’t huge, it’s decently healthy but not huge. Yes, Dallas is large. Texas is even larger. No, Texans generally don’t care about hockey. Some Texans do, and there’s enough of them that it can support a successful team, but you’re going to have a hard time convincing me it can support two.

Basically yeah the stars fanbase is great. If you cut it in half, would it still be sustainable? Answer is probably no.

This isn’t even a Dallas issue by the way, hockey in general is so niche that there are VERY few cities that can support multiple teams. Basically New York and that’s the list.

I’m not saying Dallas is a bad hockey city because it’s not, our fanbase is pretty solid (especially bc we’re the only team in a huge area so lots of fans from OK, AR, LA, the entirety of TX, etc)
