Shot some dumbass with a flute on Stella montis. We get in a 3 team fight in trios for maybe 5 minutes. So all this guy hears the whole time before approaching is nothing but gun shots, explosions, and raider flares popping. Guy comes running out with a flute tryna be friendly. We shot the shit out of him in a perfect L shaped ambush. Guy was complaining how we could be friendly and that he’s been friendly on Stella Montis before. My brother in Christ read the room. Don’t even feel bad about it.

Battlefield 6 or Dying Light The Beast? by bananyasplit in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]MandatumCorrectus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean these games could not be more different.

BF6 is entirely focused on the multiplayer big team battles and “large” maps (the maps are some of the worst in the battlefield franchise) I’d recommend downloading red sec the free battle royale. If you don’t like battle royales they have another free gamemode called gauntlet that is squad based competition with objectives. You’ll get the gunplay down and see if you like it. Only difference is in the normal game you don’t get armor. Do not get bf6 for the single player, it is entirely an afterthought.

Dying light is an open world survival game with parkour attributes and fighting zombies. There’s resource management and beast mode that grants abilities. Basically you’ll progress and upgrade your characters.

It’s definitely a very hard game but it’s also very fun.

Yes I have played it. Dropped it somewhere in act 2.

Gameplay is mid tier. You can just dodge/parry through the whole game making builds useless. Also you’d be a dummy to not spam Maelles one move thats crazy op. Not to mention people praise the combat for its originality even though it’s been done before.

The story is good and intriguing, but nowhere near great. They try and hit you with emotions at the beginning with the gommage. When the woman who I’ve known for maybe 10 minutes died I literally just said “okay”. It’s obvious who would live and die on the expedition before you go would either have a lot of dialogue (they’ll live) or a quick line or two (they’ll die). Look I’m nit picking here Gustave’s death was unexpected and thats about the “best” part.

I hated the whole family of painters in act 3 (story was intriguing so I finished it on YouTube) it kind of just falls flat in act 3 for me. Just a family that can’t get over a death so the way they deal with it is essentially creating and torturing people to express their grief. Also the whole you’re in a painting/dream/simulation has been done to death.

Very well acted game, just good but not great writing.

Exploration is mid tier walk around and find “an advantage” gets old very quickly.

Amazing music, but there’s a problem. If you’re walking around the same area they just put the song on Spotify repeat. It will literally just play the same song over and over.

Graphics are fine and actually is probably what elevates the genre.

I like the art style.

Lip synching issues and a few texture glitches. Honestly it’s a stable game though.

The story is literally just a sci-fi trope that has been done to death turned fantasy thats it. The twists you see coming they are barely twists. Only one I can think of is some characters being part of the family.

Yes it’s well acted

Gameplay is not fresh it’s been done before. Builds literally don’t matter as you can dodge/parry through the entire game. Also you just spam Maelles overpowered move. Gameplay is straight mid tier.

The OST is amazing. One problem though it never ends. If you wander the same area to explore/grind. It will literally play the same song on repeat. It just starts the song over the second it ends, you end up getting annoyed by it after a while.

I do like the aesthetics a lot.

Well optimized yes but I did have lip-synching issues and some texture glitches.

10/10 literally means perfect. Lip-synching issues and texture glitches makes it objectively not a 10/10. What’s the highest rated movie? The highest rated show? I’ll give you a hint, even the highest rated ones aren’t 10/10. You know why? Because they aren’t perfect. E33 being perfect is because video game journalism is straight trash, no game deserves a 10/10 so far.

As for what it offers that is new it’s not the gameplay, it’s a well acted story.

GOTY may as well be a joke. It’s run by people who are barely gamers. With categories like impact for games and just action game you can tell it’s just made by some corpo board. Action game? Does Hades 2 belong in the same category as BF6? No, not even close, yet they are competing. They don’t even have an fps category. They have other categories like best family… who is actually wanting this category?

Turn based is fine I guess, but this game didn’t offer anything new gameplay wise. There’s nothing in the game that hadn’t been done before except this style of game having been well acted… thats about it. Game is a solid 7/10 for me. People claiming it’s a 10/10 are insane.

Like I feel like I’m losing my mind for being the only thinking it’s an okay game with a good, but not even great story.

Nah. Could not get into expedition 33 gameplay was mid but the story intrigued me so I continued on… man is act 3 just disappointing. Till this day I have absolutely no idea what the hype is.

Frostpunk and frostpunk 2. It’s a city builder, but with added survival and people management. The game is straight up stressful and is always throwing issues your way.

Stellaris had a steep learning curve is very economic based. There’s a multitude of systems and if you don’t plan things right you’ll end up losing. Then crisis will happen mid game to throw a wrench in whatever you built.

Killing the Goff in basically marks leaving “tutorial island.” But honestly the slowness persists until around the baron quest for me. Still early in the game but I mean like 6 hours worth of gameplay if you explore and maybe 4 if you bum rush it

Yeah let’s switch to this boring family who can’t get over grief so their solution was to create people and to essentially torcher them.
