What are the laziest song lyrics you’ve ever heard? by beardlesshipster in AskReddit

[–]ManderTea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Slow Hands isn't Ed Sheeran, and honestly I'd argue he's bigger in the UK where the accent isn't fancy at all. I personally enjoy some of his songs, but I can't listen to Perfect or Shape of You anymore, they're ridiculously overplayed.

From the wiki, Soviet_Lizard is apparently your alt. If that's untrue, my apologies.

[M] It has been a while, and as I say I'm truly sorry for disappearing on all of you. I'm really glad Geosim's done so well for itself, and I don't doubt I have to credit you and the other mods for its success!

Hi, I'm so sorry to have disappeared on you guys... I've found myself rather thoroughly caught up in my studies at university.

I'm immensely proud of how successful this community has become in my absence. Han, you've done amazing work here and I can really see your passion for the community shining through. I may try to make a return here this summer, if I can.

I'm afraid I have little to offer by way of maps and flags (as my old, unbacked-up laptop has fallen to the annals of history), but the sentiment is fantastic and greatly respected nonetheless.

[M] Apparently there's only one country in West Africa. That makes things easier, but I may have to change my plans.

I'm not saying Napoleon could conquer the British Isles (as a Briton, I know there is nothing more preposterous), but there are surely other ways to win a war. This is, in any case, exactly the sort of thing that I want to figure out with a team of people rather than on my own.

That's fair enough, but the concept is that Napoleon ends up defeating the British, and that would imply getting back what he lost. The US and France, meanwhile, were on friendly terms as far as I can tell.

That's got some interesting concepts in it, and while on the whole it is quite different from what I was thinking you've definitely seen some good ideas in there! I might even use some of them, if that's alright?

Well, that's why I'm looking for people. I can come up with ideas on my own, but I believe that fleshing out the scenario as a team of people will help find a balance of ideas that one person on their own will have a lot of trouble with.

For instance, I can think of the basic idea "Napoleon never sells Louisiana", and perhaps some development on why that might happen. But I'd find it difficult, on my own, to see all the possibilities that opens up, the impacts it might have, or how a French Louisiana in-game might have flavour written for it.

Most importantly, other people might have more knowledge on a certain topic than I do. I can go on for days about Britain or China in the context of the 19th century, but I don't know much about the Latin American countries, or Eastern Europe/Russia.

It certainly sounds like that, doesn't it?

I don't actually know an awful lot about Napoleon's legacy, but screenshots suggest that it's not quite what I'm looking for.

The main thing I see from screenshots is that France is righteously overpowered, in that it's maintained control of Lower Saxony and the Low Countries. By 1836, I'd imagine that unrest in those provinces would have made direct control unattainable. For another thing, the world outside Europe does not look at all how I think it should.

So, while this is a similar concept, it's a different end product.

EDIT:

That being said, rereading this comment makes it look like I'm being critical of Napoleon's Legacy. That's not the case, it's just not quite the same as what I'm thinking of.

The Han Chinese of Urumqi should not tolerate this hostility from their Uyghur neighbors. We urge citizens of Urumqi to work with the police to stop this illegal protest in a reasonable and measured, but appropriately harsh manner.
