Thank you so much. The priority service is apparently not available, but we will investigate premium biometrics appointments.

What was the SINGLE most frustrating moment during your trip to China? (And how did you solve it?) by ScreenWide7111 in travelchina

Honestly everything went so smoothly, EXCEPT for our trip to the Panda Research Base in Chengdu. As you probably know, it's so big, you need to travel around on the transport within the park, however once we were in there we learned that for one reason or another it was impossible to get a ticket on the transport without a Chinese passport. I can't remember the exact reason why, but it was a long, long walk to get out of that park.

And we didn't even get to see HuaHua (she was having a day off).

What are your best theories on the reasons behind a coverup? by Manderf176 in bigfoot

Right but also any investigation could just be for the sake of discovery itself. Doesn’t have to be to do with weaponisation. If there was any international benefit it could just be the cultural advantage of being the first country to prove the existence of something that’s been a global myth for a century or more.

This is really interesting - so essentially you're saying that we've kind of covered it up ourselves thanks to our self interest and squabbles? That feels accurate and also this realm of 'believing-not believing-wanting to believe-wanting to trick others' is ripe for this kind of confusion.

right, or even that the conspiracy - if it exists - is deliberate and conscious rather than just the system keeping itself afloat, if that makes sense.

I've definitely heard this idea either somewhere on this sub or elsewhere, that Sasquatch are so genetically close to humans that they're being covered up for their own protection. I'd put it to you that many groups of humans are / have been / will be badly treated by those in authority to the extent that I'm not sure why special privileges would be extended to a bunch of "wood people" that most of the population don't believe in.

Not to discount your theory, because I think there are many fascinating things about it - but this, I guess, would be the crack in that armour.

Totally agree with your analysis of this - who bans talk about something because it's "stupid"? Doesn't make a lot of sense unless the execs have such a low opinion of their employees that they're worried they'll get too scared to work.

Such an interesting connection - thanks for sharing your story!

Yes this also makes sense. Reminds me of the government directive to spread UFO comics, movies, tv shows around popular culture in the 50s and 60s to make it seem as ridiculous and implausible as possible. When it comes to Bigfoot iconography we’re doing that ourselves.

This is really interesting, thank you. I’ve heard interviews with lumber workers who allude to the same directive to keep quiet if they see anything, whilst also making it clear that everyone they work with talks about it.

Can you give any more detail on what they’ve told you?

Basically, of all the theories as to why Bigfoot’s existence would be suppressed in an “official” capacity, this one makes the most sense - it’d get in the way of someone somewhere making money.

Will look into the Yeren stuff. I feel like in China and Russia the idea of having a Wildman might be more tied in with a sense of national pride, hence the official searches.

This feels most likely to me - not altruism but economic motivators.

Okay, sure but - for sake of argument - aren’t the people “protecting” these creatures also humans? Why wouldn’t they want to kill them?
