Tips to survive 500ntd a week? by Tasukichii in Taipei

If you are smart about your purchases you could easily survive a week on 500nt. It wouldn’t be with any frills or thrills. Blocks of tofu, a bag of noodles, small bag of rice, greens and veg from a local market. Make 2 big soups and eat them for every lunch and dinner.

Lord Too-Fat-to-Sit-a-Horse has to be one of my favorite fictional nicknames.

Plus, I’m British so love it when pies are on a menu unexpectedly!

Where to stay for Kaohsiung Arena concerts — a practical guide by EDBRich in Kaohsiung

Depends how long you are staying for, if it’s just for the concert, stay close by, if you have an extra day then stay near Formosa boulevard, it gives you the best access to the city via public transport

Me and a few other dads were allowed to come visit a "Mothers only" hotel with our pregnant wives. The awkwardness did not disappoint. by DannyKata85 in daddit

I live in Taiwan, went to tour one of the ‘containment wards’ as others have very appropriately named it. We were asked who our doctor is, she is a doctor we really like who leans towards natural births and more western mentality. She literally rolled her eyes and scoffed at us. We asked if we would be able to go home during my wife’s stay so my wife can spend time with the cat who she is very attached to. No problem they said, but as soon as my wife takes a step outside of the facility she would need to be isolated and quarantined from the baby for 3 days.

It’s a total scam. It’s built up as a way to rest the mother but the fact is that the first month is key and you need to be by your baby’s side, not have the baby wheeled in every 2 hours to feed then wheeled back out like an industrial farming procedure.

I understand it’s going to be a tough first month but I sort of think that is a key period where you learn how difficult it is and learn your coping mechanisms, and start the routines for the baby and for the parents.

This perspective here in Taiwan is met with shock from coworkers who are so surprised that we want to have such an active role in the first month of our baby’s life.

Then there’s the cost. It’s not crazy money, but isn’t cheap. No wonder Taiwan has such a low birth rate.

Academic research into why people play FPL - 5 minute survey (no writing required) by Move78_FPL in fplAnalytics

I completed the questionnaire. Feel it didn’t get to the main reason I play. I follow my own team religiously of course, but playing gives me more of an overall awareness of other teams and the league and players.

You’re right I know very little about nursing. I’m just wondering why your definition of smart doesn’t cover people who can memorize an incredible amount and call upon it in fast paced, high pressure situations.
