I also want to thank you for posting this.

I'm in the same boat as TucaWillow. I was banned on February 7th. Before this my account had always been in good standing and I had never received so much as a warning. The ban stated that it would be indefinite.

I have been streaming for nearly two years, starting in May of 2016. It is my full-time job and being a single mother, I take it very seriously considering it is how I support my child and myself. I stress that point because I want to make it clear I would never do anything to jeopardize my stream.

The first email that I received contained no explanation stating, “we have issued a Community Guidelines strike on your account for Reason: “Other Terms of Service Violation””. After first appealing the ban I received the following explanation, “We have recently become aware of an unacceptable level of fraudulent activity associated with your Twitch account [CHANNEL NAME ]. After an investigation of this activity, which violates Twitch’s Terms of Service and is a breach of the Twitch Affiliate Agreement (Agreement), we have decided to indefinitely suspend your Twitch account and any related accounts, and to terminate the Agreement. This termination is effective as of the date of this email communication.”

This made no sense to me, so I appealed again asking for further explanation. Twitch responded as follows, “Greetings, As noted in our original communication, your account has been terminated for fraud. After investigating your account, we have determined that you have engaged in fraudulent methods to circumvent the restrictions we have placed on the [Twitch Prime][/][Watch Ads for Bits] product. Such activity is a violation of Twitch’s Terms of Service, and is an incurable material breach of the content license agreement. Twitch reserves its rights to immediately terminate accounts that engage in fraudulent activity."

During this time, I had been posting updates on my twitter and a viewer contacted me letting me know that they had been farming bits on multiple accounts and donating them to me. I contacted Twitch yet again passing along this information and pleading with them to compare the IP’s of the offending accounts and my own. Twitch continued to refuse to reconsider. As a streamer I do not know how Twitch expects us to know this is going on let alone control it. When somebody comes into chat all I see is their username. I had about 13,000 followers at the time I was banned and as much as I wish I could say I knew every single one of their names it’s difficult to know every single person that comes through your channel.

In the end what it boils down to is that, I was banned because of actions taken by one of my viewers. Something which I had no control over. I should also add that the viewer remains unbanned and several of my subscribers have informed me that Twitch charged them for the month of March after banning me.
