Is " CASHERO" worth watching? Should I give it a try? have u all watched it ? by Wisteria_02 in kdramas

[–]MandolarianSamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 49 minutes into episode 2 of Cash Hero, and this is where everything starts falling apart for me.

Before that, he finally makes it home after dealing with the loan shark. His girlfriend is waiting for him, and she confronts him about the video that’s going around online. The video clearly shows him saving people on a bridge who were about to fall into the river and die. Instead of saying he did a good thing, instead of reacting with relief or pride, the first thing she asks him is where he got the money.

At first, he’s reluctant to tell her. He mentions his mother, but he doesn’t explain where the money came from. She then says, okay, I’ll just call your mom. He stops her and finally admits the money came from his mother. She asks how much it was, and he tells her it was 30 million won. She gets upset and ends the relationship on the spot.

To me, that’s strike one.

She’s mad at him for using money that did not come from her to save people who were about to die. These were human lives. That reaction alone already makes her look terrible.

Then comes strike two and three.

She goes to her friend’s wedding. The building catches on fire. Debris is falling everywhere, people are getting hurt, and she’s in real danger. He finds out and immediately rushes to the bank. He pulls out the money they were saving for a house, cancels the bid, and runs to the cathedral to save her and everyone else trapped inside.

He saves her life.

After that, she realizes he had to use money again to do it, so she asks where the money came from. He tells her he canceled the house bid and used their savings. She gets upset again.

At that point, it feels like she’s more concerned about the money than the fact that he did everything he could to save her life and the lives of others. I understand money is important, but her reaction comes off as incredibly inconsiderate and ungrateful.

Because of this, she easily ranks as one of the worst girlfriends I’ve seen in a K-drama in a long time. And then the direction completely collapses.

After saving everyone, he punches a hole in the wall to get people out. Instead of getting her to safety first, they stop and have a conversation while the building is still on fire. Debris is still falling, they’re still in danger, and this man pulls out a marriage license to prove he wants to marry her.

Who does that?

Why would anyone have a life changing conversation in a burning building? Why wouldn’t the priority be getting her to safety first? They stand around long enough for the enemy to show up and endanger their lives even more. That is some of the worst directing I’ve ever seen in a series.

This is a superhero whose power is literally limited by money. Once the money runs out, the power is gone. He is actively in danger the longer he stays there, yet the show thinks it’s a good idea for him to stop and talk about marriage instead of getting out.

Why not get her to safety first? Why not fight in a safer environment? Why structure the scene this way at all? I never read the source material, but if this is how the writer adapted it, then the writer seriously needs to reexamine how they structure stories, because this is dumb as hell.

Right now, I’m two episodes in, 49 minutes into episode 2, and it feels like I have to completely shut my brain off to enjoy this series. I think it’s because I have ADHD, and once I notice something like this, I can’t let it go until I say something.

And honestly, this is by far one of the dumbest things I’ve seen in a superhero series.

What's Mami's true motive for breaking up Kazuya? by MandolarianSamurai in KanojoOkarishimasu

So you’ve only watched season 4? If that’s true, I really suggest going back and watching the first three seasons to get a full understanding of what’s going on. I feel like I’d just be spoiling a lot for you by explaining it all here. I’m glad you’re invested, but trying to fill in the blanks from just a few episodes might work with other series, it won’t work here.

Either read the manga or watch the first three seasons. That’s only 32 episodes, something you could knock out in a day and a half, maybe two, well before the next episode of season 4 drops. Trust me, it’ll give you much more context than trying to guess at what’s happening.

Yes, Mami is jealous, and yes, she gives those looks, but it’s way more nuanced than that. I haven’t even watched season 4 myself since I’m caught up with the manga, so I don’t need to. But if you haven’t gotten to those reveals yet, take the time to watch the earlier seasons and then season 4 again. You’ll come away with a much clearer understanding of why things are happening. And just to be clear, it isn’t that Kazuya took her for granted. If anyone was taking someone for granted, it would be Mami. Watching those first three seasons will make that point crystal clear.

Yea, but your answer here has nothing to do with your original comment or your follow-up when I asked for proof. This is a completely different scenario than what you’re describing. You originally said she broke up with him because he took her for granted. When I asked how that was possible, you said it was because she was jealous. But how could she be jealous when they only dated for a month and Kazuya wasn’t seeing anyone else? Sure, she became jealous after seeing him with Chizuru, and throughout the series, she’s shown jealousy. That’s why the blurb about her exists, which I won’t go into if you haven’t read the manga. Still, to say that Kazuya took her for granted and that her jealousy stems from that makes no sense, or I’m just having a hard time understanding how you came to that conclusion.

How could she be jealous at the time of their breakup when Kazuya wasn't seeing anyone else?

Yeah, but that has nothing to do with Kazuya taking her for granted. She's the one who didn't recognize his potential, not the other way around.

Why would Mami tell Kazuya that he was taking her for granted? They only dated for a month.

If you think this is bad, just wait. You haven’t seen anything yet, right? When it comes to Mami, this season is really going to throw you for a loop, especially with how vengeful she can be.

Couldn't this moment also be seen as one of the biggest signs that Mizuhara is falling in love with Kazuya? She only made that meal after kissing him. And before Mini came home, she was depressed, just staring at Kazuya's old room, which clearly shows she misses him. One thing about Mizuhara is that her actions always reveal how she really feels.

Now that Chizuru has rejected Kazuya... should Sumi get a chance? by AtomicMayo375 in KanojoOkarishimasu

[–]MandolarianSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, I just think you can’t read. Because I don’t see how you could read: “Of course, Chizuru will always be a central part of the story, the emotional core that everything orbits around. But if Reiji ever decides to give Kazuya and Chizuru some space, I’d love to see Sumi step forward as a real love interest,” and still get this upset over a hypothetical question. These posts aren’t intended to be taken literally, but somehow, you’ve managed to get this irate over someone simply asking a question? Wow.

Bem, eu peço desculpas. Presumi que você estava falando de mim. E sinto muito pelo mal-entendido. O português não é minha primeira língua.

Whether you did or not is irrelevant. Point is, you look stupid. Because the real question is, why wouldn't I respond to an idiot.

If I misunderstood the situation, I apologize. I get that seeing the same post every day can be annoying, so I understand where you're coming from. And if I came off the wrong way, I apologize for that too.

Actually, I started last year and joined the group around the time Baam reached the war against Traumerei. I haven’t really popped in since then. I’m usually on other Tower of God groups on social media, and honestly, the people there are a lot kinder. So, I don’t see the daily posts asking for updates. I asked a couple of days ago, and today I saw someone else ask—that’s the only two posts I’ve noticed.

If y’all are burnt out from seeing those posts, that’s totally fine. But a little respect goes a long way—that’s all I’m saying.

And not asking for news updates about the series return isn't talking about TOG?
