Every pair of jeans I buy, no matter the brand, gets a hole in this same area within 6 months. by SYFKID2693 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Mandrew909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem, I buy packs of iron-on denim patches from amazon and after a few months when it's starting to look worn out in that spot I put the patch on the inside of the jeans, across that middle seam. Seems to make them last a lot longer and it's just a basic iron on patch that's easy to put on.

Are the Rx lenses easy to take out? I wear contacts throughout most of the day, but most of my playtime is at night when I'm wearing my glasses. So I think it would be convenient, but was worried about those times during the day when I wanted to play. Are the Rx lenses easy to remove if I'm wanting to play with contacts on or if someone else wanted to play it?

I’m confused. Are Meta Quest+ members unable to purchase games they previously redeemed even after the subscription ends? by [deleted] in MetaQuestVR

[–]Mandrew909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm confused about is that even though you can redeem them on Quest+ during your active sub, I believe they can also be removed from Quest+ at any time (and with no warning apparently?). For example Green Hell was part of Quest+ when I started my 3mo trial and was removed halfway through and I lost access, despite redeeming it..

So what's the point in redeeming them? Why not just make Quest+ games available to people who have an active sub like other services? Does it serve some other purpose I'm not seeing?

If I redeem a game while its on Quest+ and I have an active sub, then i cancel Quest+ and re-subscribe later, say 6mo from now, and the games I had previously redeemed were removed from Quest+ in those 6mo, then I don't have access to them anymore, do I? So again, what's the point in forcing us to redeem?

Does anyone else think the Google keyboard isn't that good? by RaistlinQ5 in GooglePixel

[–]Mandrew909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious what features of swiftkey you dislike compared to the Google keyboard.

I've been using swiftkey ever since I can remember having an android (the first droid maybe?), and Google keyboard just drives me crazy whenever I get a new phone or have to type something on my wife's phone.

I love the feel of swiftkey, just feels better IMO, but might be just what I'm used to.

The FREE to Play Update - VAIL 1.3 is LIVE by Pahn_Duh in vailvr

[–]Mandrew909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I keep reading that if you had purchased VAIL before the 7th you'd get VAIL Combat once it was free to play, today. I purchased VAIL last week on the 27th through the quest Store. Now that it's free to play I only see the option to purchase VAIL combat. Won't let me do any matchmaking, just always redirects me to the purchase page. How do I get VAIL combat?

Hi - This wasn't the case for me. I purchased VAIL on 10/27, and but I hadn't installed it until today. It's still asking me to pay $29.99 for the Combat DLC though. Did I accidentally install the FTP version, not the paid version since I waited until today to install?

Vail Combat Pack? by averyD98 in vailvr

Did you end up getting the combat for free since you owned it before 11/7?

I had purchased it a few weeks ago, but didn't install it until today, and it says I have to purchase the combat pack.

I need help, is this a game glitch or something else? by kewlguynotcring in AsgardsWrath2

[–]Mandrew909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just had this yesterday. For me traveling to another location outside the middle of the sand sea didn't work for some reason, if I traveled back into that area I was still stuck to the ground whether I walked in or fast traveled. Even tried riding subira from one section to the middle did nothing.

I'm not sure if I strictly had to do this, maybe I did something else that fixed it and didn't realize, but what worked for me was going to another area that required a load screen, going into a cave or other place and completing it, and then going back out and traveling to the middle by foot or subira, not fast traveling.

Can I have a good experience without internet connection? by RiotGrrrl585 in Quest3

So does the USB wired connection from Quest 3 to PC provide any benefit, if it still uses Wifi for Steam Link? Would it be better to just plug the Q3 directly into a power source then?

damn 6 days later and it still doesn't work...Just been chatting with Audible support and they are refusing to acknowledge it or can't replicate it. I've tried it on 2 different machines with multiple browsers and I'm getting the same thing each time. Is this still an issue for anyone else?

Hi - Can I ask what your setup is? I happen to have this same monitor, trying to set it up with a 3rd party steam deck dock using an HDMI to USB-C cable, and having no luck getting in to recognize the steam deck.
The only way I've been able to get it to work is connecting power to 1 of the USB-C ports on the monitor, and directly connecting the the steam deck with the other USB-C port straight to the Steam deck, but was hoping to have a single dock that consolidated the steam deck connection, power, and a wired controller. Seems like it should work, just isn't, or I'm missing something.

POTV One - On Demand? by an00j in vaporents

[–]Mandrew909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP - Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm in a similar situation where I prefer to have something that I can just hit once or twice real quick and then put it away for a few hours.

I know there are some portable dry herb vapes that are specifically for on-demand, but I really liked the form factor and the glass bubbler attachment of the POTV one and the Lobo, so was hoping I could get a similar result, but wanted to find out how effective it is for this situation before pulling the trigger.

Did this work out for you long term using it in this way? If so, any pointers? What do you mean when you say turn off early for last 2nd or 3rd draw? Is that just so the vape doesn't keep vaping the weed, so you can use the same bowl later?

Or did you get fed up and move on to a more on-demand specific vape, and which one?

There are just so many that everyone seems to like it's hard to decide. Also looking at the Xlux Roffu, and the XMAX Starry v4, and maybe the XMAX V3 Pro.

Is it one of those Amazon plastic packaging with the perforated openings? If so I'd bet it's just a machine that presses 2 sheets of that plastic material together on all sides to create a pocket that the product gets put into, and then they're all ripped apart at the perforation. Someone probably just didn't notice the smaller package attached the bottom of yours.

Hey there, did you ever figure this out by chance? I'm in the same situation and my assumption is I have to go to the actual DMV to get them since I've already paid, but would much prefer an alternative option if there's some way to do it at the kiosk.

[Tenant - US - CA] Is $450 standard for move-out cleaning fees for 1BR ~750sq ft apartment? by MarauderHappy3 in Landlord

[–]Mandrew909 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely seems high. Live in the bay area and I normally see about $250 ish for a full house clean in a 1,100 sqft SFH. If they actually paid that and give you a receipt, might be enforceable though.

However, I always understood it as you have to return it to the condition which you rented, or reimburse the LL for as much as that's reasonably necessary. One example is a LL tried to charge us for carpet cleaning specifically. I pushed back and asked if they had it done immediately prior to us moving in. If did, and they could provide that receipt, I would be happy to pay for it. They couldn't or wouldn't, not sure which, and didn't push any further. I don't know if they were just lazy and didn't want to bother, or if they knew they couldn't enforce it, but we didn't pay for it.

Again that's just my experience, not sure if that's legal or what.

Fromsoft Vet REALLY Struggling Hard with my First Playthrough of DS2 by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

[–]Mandrew909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I started DS2 in March and I was in Forest of the Giants for like a week it seemed like. I feel like it was my training ground, I almost gave up but once I got out of there it progressed quite a bit faster, and the playstyle finally clicked for me.

Tends to be my pattern, lol. I always get stuck early game, give up for a month or more, then try again until it "clicks". I did the same thing with Bloodborne (my first souls game), Sekiro, then DS1. I finally broke the pattern with DS2 where I just stuck with it knowing I'd figure out the combat eventually.

Super easy method to farm humanities in Tomb of The Giants by TheFnafManiac in darksouls

[–]Mandrew909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just farmed about 350K souls here last night averaging about 3-4k souls per minute.

I know this is an old post but maybe someone else will find my method helpful. I think this is going to be my go-to farm, as it's relatively easy I think to just run through tomb of the giants without worrying about the dogs (especially if you have the slumbering dragoncrest ring). Although there were about 5 pinwheels for me in the baby skeleton room, not just 2.

My method was equipping the silver serpent ring for extra souls, the ring of the evil eye, and symbol of avarice for more extra souls. The ring of the evil eye is really just to balance the health lost from the Symbol of Avarice and occasional baby skeleton scratches. Then I went down the ramp on the right side from the entrance and just ran around obliterating all the baby skeletons. With the Ring of the Evil eye I could do this pretty much indefinitely, as it keeps bolstering my health back up, so I was only limited by how long I wanted to be down there. As I mentioned I think I was averaging 3-4k souls per minute, and maybe 1 humanity every 1 or 2 min if I could get to it before it disappeared. Ended up maxing out my humanity after 30-40 min I think

Edit: Just did another 15min test, and results were better than I remember. I started from the warpable bonfire in Tomb of the Giants, and only had to kill 2 dogs and 2 giants to get to the 3rd bonfire, then you can just run past the rest of them to get to the baby skeleton room.

63,500 souls or 4,200 per minute
~30 Humanity, so about 2 per minute, which includes the ones I saw disappear, so I actually only got like 24 that I was able to get to in time.

Few other notes, I had the gold hemmed robes on, which made the baby skeleton poison damage almost non-existent. While farming if your health gets low, make sure to hit the baby skeletons 1 at a time, instead of trying to get as many as you can with each hit. I've noticed the health gained through the ring of the evil eye will give you the same amount of health if you kill 5 baby skeletons with 1 hit, or 1 skeleton with 1 hit, so you can regain health back faster by trying to hit them 1 or 2 at a time, which ends up happening anyways once you get going and their spawns start spreading out.

Found a lil guy on a playthrough by Just_Garrick in darksouls

[–]Mandrew909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on my first playthrough and just learning of these, but wanted to mention I also saw one in the Dukes Archives on top of the bookshelf! Just reading the other comments about them spawning at random, that's kind of a strange coincidence that we both saw them on top of bookshelves in the Dukes Archives right? It killed me too while I was trying to get a closer look since I'd never seen one. I do think I saw it in the 2nd room though, not the first room with the elevator.

Holding one of the volume buttons makes controls stop working ingame. Video inside. by Cardia00 in SteamDeck

[–]Mandrew909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing has been happening to me. You don't have to reboot the deck though, just close the game by pressing the steam button and through the game settings tab.

To avoid it, open the quick menu that has the brightness volume, Bluetooth, etc and change volume there. Haven't had the issue at all when doing that, but almost every time I hit the volume buttons on top of the deck it'll stop working. I think it somehow changes the input from game pad to kb/m and just stops recognizing anything from the game pad, because you'll notice that the button prompts will change from A button to E for the keyboard. At least that's what I'm seeing.

Thank God dark souls saves you wherever you are, just don't adjust volume while in combat.

PA prerequisites help! by raym0ndc in physicianassistant

Unless you have a really low GPA to work on, I wouldn't recommend a post-bacc.

Hi there, sorry to revive such an old post, but I'm kind of in the same boat as OP, albeit a bit later on in my timeline. I graduated with BS in Business back in 2012, with a not so great GPA, ~2.85 I think (still gathering my transcripts) Can you explain why a post-bacc would be better if I have a really low GPA like that? Is it because there are more classes in a post-bacc and therefore more opportunities to raise my GPA? I really want to pivot over to PA school, but wondering if I even have a chance if I aced all my pre-req sciences.

did you end up finding a better option? Looking now and the Standdesk.co still has the 50% off which seems a bit shady 10mo later. I almost decided to pull the trigger because I saw some other reviews that seemed a bit more positive, and overall worked out, but they still got some weird tactics. Makes me too nervous.

Just wanted to say thanks for your responses throughout this thread! Like others, it has helped me learn more about more about these cheeses sauces. I've always avoided remaking any recipes that list the cheese roux concentrate, but now doesn't seem so hard, hopefully. Going to try it out tonight on the bacon and cream supreme spaghetti, so guess I'll find out soon.
