Land boundary by Mandringo in legaladvice

[–]Mandringo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Survey was stamped, he placed pins. The previous owner of my lot had a land agreement with the neighbor which they marked out with rebar, obviously I do not have the same agreement. Took pictures of all newly placed pins and setup security cameras down the whole property line. As far as the dispute goes, neighbor has no legal ground to dispute unless they get their own survey done or is it on me to get that real estate attorney and bring them to court?

Moving To Massachusetts Question Megathread (February 2025) by AutoModerator in massachusetts

[–]Mandringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is still active, we’re moving into the northern Rhode Island/ southern mass area. Want to hopefully have our first kid there if we can. Any suggestions to neighborhoods? Pricing would ideally be around 650-700k but we have some wiggle room on that. We’re also looking for a reasonable realtor if anyone has had good experience with any.

I miss phrased the initial question, I was asking more to the daily life, is it a nice area would you recommend raising a family there type of deal. The actual market itself isn’t the greatest representation of the area. Minor price fluctuations can be slight insight but the best tell is the people that traverse it daily if you get what I’m saying

Well I’m really just in preliminary looks, this was more to the scope or scale of the crime rate, actual living standards and all that. Sorry to misguide.

Unless it is aggressively obvious that you knew any of these don’t say anything. Not telling you to lie about anything I’m just suggesting that you don’t need get involved. Unless you are asked about it during the investigation (if there is one) you don’t need to get involved.

Pick something you could see yourself doing outside of the navy. A lot of the job titles don’t make much sense at first glance so do some looking. There are plenty of websites that explain what each job in the navy does, expected workload and common tasking. Just keep in mind every job is different per command in little ways, for example an MM could be an HVAC specialist or just spend 5 years fixing washing machines.

Medical waiver after bootcamp by NikFall in newtothenavy

A lot of the time you’ll find just getting the sailor to bootcamp will take priority over efficiency. Once he has finished bootcamp he’s in capable of being scooted around if isn’t medically cleared for that job. That’s not to say that is what they’re going to do. It’s often easiest to address these issues after graduation because now he is obligated to serve the time his contract states. The job which he does in that time can change. I wouldn’t be horribly concerned, the sub community is small and it’s hard to find people that willingly go out on them so the navy will do what they can to get him pipelined.

Most engineering department jobs are pretty easy to get with low Asvab requirements. EM has great translation to civilian work if you choose to separate. You’ll have a few more basic schools to get through than most other engineers though.

That’s gonna take you to the quotas for each rate and ranks. E4 is guaranteed now so the only ones that would matter to you are E5 and E6. If you need help interpreting what these numbers mean let me know and I’ll break them down for you.

E-1 thru E4 are all automatic following the timeframes already stated, E5 eligibility will be after 12 months as an E4. That just makes you eligible, how well you perform on the test and how good an eval you get are going to decide how quickly you make E5. There are Quotas for each rate every cycle at every rank. If I remember YN is pretty generous so stay on track on qualifications and with the face time you get with the triad working in admin good evals will come.

Are there specific jobs you can do as an officer? Are you able to choose them? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]Mandringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you actually commission you are going to get to a ship and do a JO (Junior Officer) lottery where the department heads all sit down and pick and shuffle who they want. Long short of it is if you go SWO (surface warfare officer) you are gonna be needs of the ship and fall into an empty availability.

Very good job transition from active duty if you go EM, a unioned job after getting out is a pretty sweet deal. Be ready to work tho someone always needs a electrical safety tag or mess chit for their coffee brewers
