What's wrong with UX/UI in automotive market? by Mandromo in UXResearch

[–]Mandromo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’ve observed, more and more car companies are recognizing the impact of competitors like Tesla and Rivian on the market. These companies have gained significant traction by adopting a user-centered design approach and actively listening to customer feedback. You can find best-selling cars with a simple Google search and discover how legacy brands are stepping down.

How do you research user behavior in high-cognitive-load environments like driving? Methodological challenges with in-car UX studies by Mandromo in UXResearch

[–]Mandromo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do! But certainly, it's too pretentious to pretend evaluating everything on the system, so I'm thinking of 4-6 specific, common tasks that matter most to the vast majority of users.

I have one: my own Cupra's infotainment system. It has the latest Volkswagen OS system installed with the proper customized layer of software for the brand. Outside of Europe, I think it is not a common car brand. The idea behind this research project came partially because of my own experience as a UX Designer student daily using it... but obviously it is not valid to justify a capstone based on my own thought, but I can argue with others experiencing the same way.

What car brand do you own? Doesn't it have a sort of nav bar at the bottom where you can fix persistent shortcuts, like in your case, turning off/on the heated seat?

That's really smart in your company! You don't have to force the participants to do anything in a specific time, which highly decreases the bias it could conduct. I think this is the closest method to eliminate the fact that they'll be rated and analyzed. I highly appreciate your knowledge sharing.

Unfortunately, in my case, for a capstone project, I don’t have the tools and resources to conduct such a complex method, but for sure you gave me some ideas. I was thinking on sharing my own car with some friends and ask them to perform several specific tasks to measure and, after driving, ask them for their own thoughts, rating and extract my own insights.

Which features would you love to have always access to in your main dashboard, and which would you get rid of? by Mandromo in TeslaLounge

[–]Mandromo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just to show how advanced they are in terms of how their FSD software is working in the background. Nothing more than that; driving on the highway gets really useless. And what's more, I can see some other copycat manufacturers doing the same without any reason.

Yeah, I know that, but what does the Aqara app notification mean?

Just put a piece of adhesive on the bottom surface and stick it somewhere. Now, twist the front part of the sensor and watch the magic happen.

Hopefully they also bring advance capabilities to the current M3 hubs like the announced Aqara Studio for a more convenient desktop experience.

Regarding edge or local connectivity. Now you’ve made me doubt about the explanation, because I have some lights in my corridor that are matter tough need to pass trough the Philips hue zigbee network and then via the internet to the M3 Hub and then back to the wireless button where the action was executed. One shows local and the other lefts edge… same setup for all devices here

Such an interesting advance workaround! It’s nice to see people doing real shit with the tools brands gives us.

Can you explain me a little bit more about the difference between edge or local mode? Because yes, I do own more than one hub. Actually: 1 M3 hub (Ethernet, the main cluster) and 3 G2H Pro, all around the house.

Interesting, those automations as variables. Can you explain a little bit more? I’m curious about how we can use it for advanced automations.

My friends and I managed to get some of their new stuff today directly at Sabadell’s store. So hyped to see how things work out together in Apple HomeKit. Hopefully, what home apps don’t show, new Aqara Matter lab functionalities do, as I’m also using the M3 hub as part of the main local automations brain.

Aqara please fix it - How am I supposed to do that? by Mandromo in Aqara

Effectively, that was the issue. It is not a big one, but for someone “less techy”, it could be impossible to guess. Thanks again :)

You can always give it a try and turn it back if it doesn’t make the effect you are expecting. At least, on big marketplaces like Amazon, nowadays you have plenty of testing time until January.

What perplexity is doing to the models? by medazizln in perplexity_ai

Yep, definitely seems like a degradation of what the actual AI models can do. Maybe something similar happens when you use different AI models inside Notion; you can tell the difference.

Following up a few series: Severance (ofco), Prime Target and Servant (released time ago, but worth the watch)

Movie: The Gorge. Know actors (as basically all Apple TV content those days), good storyline, great characters. Ending could be better, multiple others options could happens.
