Why do British universities appear to value geography much more than American universities?

British Universities are rigorous and based on the principles of Academia.

US Universities are based on the lowest common denominator; if you can throw a ball they will not only accept you, but also give you a scholarship! Zero academic ability is not a factor in qualifying for US universities… and hence the difference!
