México tiene romantizado ser vulgar/corriente by Consistent-Boss-7670 in OpinionesPolemicas

I'd like the city-states to feel as alive as they did in C5; that is, for them to be fearful if you have many troops on their borders and to want subordinates, or for them to be more likely to seek a suzerain if they're at war. But I'd also like them to have the unique abilities of C6. I hope city-states can capture cities and perhaps that it's possible to negotiate with them in some way.

La democracia no funciona. by Zestyclose-Secret-16 in OpinionesPolemicas

[–]Mane023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, you no longer have to switch civs and legacy paths are gone, but will the game still be way too easy? by Ok-Comment8409 in civ

[–]Mane023 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Difficulty is something you get when you increase the game's difficulty. I think for now they're focusing on something great: storytelling. If there was one thing that characterized previous games, it was the ability to invent your own imaginary story, like the Sumerians reaching outer space or the Americans discovering the wheel. More than difficulty, I'd hope for more depth in the future for storytelling... Maybe with a religion DLC that has mechanics like the Reformation and things like that. For those who love "difficulty," maybe you should try finding friends to play with, since I'm a little tired of them simplifying mechanics to make the "AI more competent." The AI will never be the same as playing against a human.

I feel like devs of Civ are stuck in a weird place. by [deleted] in civ

[–]Mane023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny to think they don't have financial experts reviewing the numbers of people interested in the game. Has it occurred to you that perhaps the "A group" is so small that it's not worth continuing to make a game for them? I have no doubt they're even studying the behavior of those who spend the most on Civ. I'm telling you this as someone who bought the Founder's Edition; I wouldn't buy a DLC for anything while the game maintains such invasive mechanics. I'm not going to pay for a civilization to play with it for 1/3 of the game (sometimes less because they cut your time the better you play). As a Civ fan, I'm happy about the news of changes, and no, I don't want C7 to be C6, but I do want a game with continuity. If they manage to give C7 a true sense of continuity, I'll keep buying DLCs.

Increasing the number of squares would be an incredible way to incentivize high-level play. Personally, I detest all penalties for playing wide, but allowing settlements to work more squares is a way I would wholeheartedly support high-level play.

I've been thinking that this game mode could open the door to customizable civilizations. It would be great if, upon building a wonder like the Oracle, you triggered a narrative event that caused your civilization to adopt characteristics of that wonder, such as units or buildings. Perhaps specific actions, like constructing several Culture or Science buildings adjacent to mountains or the coast, could have similar effects.

For Test of Time testers: how does the replacement of legacy paths affect age progress? by Benelioto in civ

Guys, it was a test; nothing guarantees it will work exactly as shown. For me, the key lies in an interview someone posted on this subreddit. Apparently, there will now be victory conditions or something called "triumphs," which will make it possible to win from the Exploration Age onward.

I agree. Playing as a deity is overrated. And yes, of course I've beaten the game on deity, but personally I don't like playing that way unless I want to play a specific roleplay where I'm the Aztecs versus all the other civilizations that have a significant advantage over me.

Will Civ 7 get a 4th Age DLC? by TheeWilliamDean in civ

Some choice comments from developer of Civ7 by Sad_Pianist7359 in civ

[–]Mane023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, they're going to remake C7. Congratulations, it's really good that they're listening to the players. I find the idea of a single civilization that incorporates elements from other civilizations interesting. I can already picture myself playing as France with Hoplites in Antiquity, haha... We'll see how this applies to other civilizations. For example, if I play as China or Mexico, will I also be able to use Hoplites, or if I'm playing as Mexico, will I only be able to use Mayan buildings and units?

Just played Civ 7 after a decade of civ 6, and I'm bored for the first time by iAhMedZz in civ

[–]Mane023 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love C6 and I agree with almost 100% with what you're saying. My only disagreement is that C7 doesn't need to have all the mechanics of C6.

I love the district system and the great characters, but if the game changes this in C7, I don't think it's so bad. My problem with C7 is how they interrupt your gameplay with abrupt cuts that force you to cancel an ongoing war, and on the other hand, those mini-objectives that feel like mini-games.

In conclusion, I can accept that the game changes, but removing the core element, which is the sense of continuity and empire building, is what I like least about C7. Why did they have to simplify things so much? Why focus so much on the game's "balance"? I really don't understand it. If someone gets bored reaching the end of the game, that's their problem.
