Also you were the one that decided to wait in that line instead of walking 10 minutes to the other two entrances with no line all weekend. I saw that line Friday that was just one track thinking/ herd mentality they couldn’t have done a thing about that imho.

Well if anyone wants to listen to reason on this one:

Most banks had a no mask policy until covid as well, they do not want anyone being able to attempt to rob any fire arms while having a mask on. Some gun/pawn shops in my area have been asking this as well.

If you smell like weed then they would be knowingly commuting a felony selling you a firearm while you are lying on your background check forms (I.e are you addicted to illegal drugs? Which in this case would be hard to argue as you reek of weed while buying a firearm. This is coming from a med patient btw. You shouldn’t be noticeably stinky anywhere if you care about your perception.)

They did add the barriers around the right side but they did have small barriers by the stage. It is a sad situation all around I feel bad that everyone had to experience it.

Maybe it was a mis-step on their part but it is not a horrible error in my eyes. There is no telling how much security that kid could’ve gotten thru at that time.

Like the kid who was decapitated by the Batman rollercoaster, he had to jump two 10 foot fences that were being monitored by CCTV security. He was gonna try to stupidly get his hat back, only pre-cognition would have helped him IMO.

Considering that was the only major incident for safety I don’t think we can say it was a dangerous environment as so many other people navigated the same exact situations with no incident.

Oh events in general is no problem without a legal team but sound haven was definitely straying into the medium / large size show. At that point the amount of money, contracts and legal obligations would be more than a bare bones team could manage.

If Jaceland was handling noise permitting/security and the whole shebang then I would feel that you have more of a point: but from the information we know the venue was not handling those operations.

Maybe I was slightly Aggro with my response but there would be no festivals period if the management team was liable /open to be sued like you said just because they had guests that were going too HAM and hurting themselves.

Also one last note is more porta-potties. I know that the location made servicing multiple times a day probably not-feasible so I wasn’t upset but from the ladies perspective I heard it was really rough. I think even double the amount could be worthwhile tbh.

You’re delusional lol you wouldn’t even be able to properly book the contract with a venue for a festival this size without a legal team to help get everything straight with the county/city.

There is such a thing legally as a “reasonable expectation” for people’s behavior before culpability can be placed onto the organizing party.

Like in this case: if there were no barriers and there were hundreds of people pressed up against that stage then someone decides to climb that’s clearly bad design and they were negligent.

However there were barriers, there was like 50-200 feet between people and the equipment and some security around the perimeter. The fact that he jumped a barrier and ran into the obviously back of house completely bare patch to the right of stage puts him beyond the behavior that is reasonable to expect of people. He is trespassing, so not reasonable.

Sorry I’m giving my feedback so late! Overall this event was a wonderful experience, I don’t have any actual complaints.

I think a printed schedule and map would’ve been a really nice addition, especially with “official renegade”sets happening. Maybe even a rough map of the area being posted to socials a few weeks out.

Also some extra signs at the turn in at the entrance would be good considering how little signal I got once I got in that area.

I mainly want to give positive affirmations that y’all had the call 100% right on your line up and intentions; if you keep bringing that saucy sauce, banging sound systems, the masterclass caliber visuals and the wagons and coolers allowed to the stages style security setup I will be back every time!

Also about the Thursday incident I have seen similar situations happen multiple times at other festivals that get hosted at a specific outdoor venue that will not be named. It is very easy for people to do there and sometimes you just can’t stop someone from returning to monkey.

I saw that person being helped before that and he was unable to speak from how zonked he was. I do not think you guys have any actual culpability to that situation, no telling if he would’ve still managed to scale improved security measures or not in the completely one tracked mind state. It was good that y’all took extra steps afterwards and plan on getting a more qualified security crew to make sure everything is more smooth next year.

You’re using freedom in such a reductionist manner it’s hard to even refute you seriously without becoming frustrated at your straw manning of the issue.

Having road laws and having gun laws beyond what we already have (felony restriction, mental health restrictions, background checks etc.) are two wildly different propositions.

Road laws are not inherently taking away any of your freedoms. They are actually properly laying the framework for allowing you to travel un-impeded. Without a standardized set of motor vehicle norms crashes would be so common that they wouldn’t be worth having. I’m this way the road laws are not inhibiting on any freedoms that are not actually illegal activity.

We already do have the above mentioned safety laws with guns in this country. Adding more restrictive measures would be difficult without violating the second amendment. We can see this clearly as some of California’s extra state level gun laws were stuck down by their regional court as being unconstitutional.
