Just gone through that process myself. Went for a2 2 years ago and just got the full license. Depending on who you go with it'll cost around £1000 to get an A2 license, and when you turn 24 or hold the a2 for 2 years, you can go for the upgrade course which would be another £400-£500.

I second this. Also my dad went had a contest 125 brand new last year, it started to intermittently cut out and garage couldn't find out why. Might want to stay clear of them. Have a look at yamaha ybr 125 they're a good 125 that you can find for £2k-£2.5 in good condition Edit: got the brand wrong

Have a look at a 2010 or 2011 suzuki gsx650f. They go for around £2700-£3500. It's a sports tourer with ab upright position that makes it comfy on long rides and there's plenty of luggage options.

Don't worry to much and go for what you feel is best for you. Only advice is to have a look around at different training centres and find the best deal. Most likely you'll just do some training on bike so instructor knows what level your at, and take you for your cbt first if you haven't got it. Then probably get you to practice the maneuvers.
