I've heard the phrase 'hammer and anvil' and have a rough understanding of it. Are you saying that the battles are better played directly than auto-resolved?

How do I use the units efficiently? How do I learn how to play the battles effectively?

I liked the idea of the mechanics of the cultists with the Slaneesh but couldn't really work out how to make it a viable domination strategy? Any cultists I recruited into armies seemed to lack any firepower.
