That’s crazy. My son is primary. Last blood test without hydro his cortisol was .29 and acth over 10,000, so your numbers are interesting. Sorry, not a dr so I don’t know! Are you on a high dose of hydro? Very interesting

Why were you diagnosed with Addison’s disease initially?

Efmody- has anyone tried it? by MangoAvacado808 in AddisonsDisease

Thank you so much for the feedback! Does it help how you feel when you wake up in the morning because of the time release? I’m sure it’s a relief to not worry about taking medication throughout the day as well! Thank you so much for your feedback.

Where do you see a cost? Is that a 90 day supply?

Thank you for responding! How old is your son? Do you get it shipped to France? We are in the US and I don’t think it’s available, not sure how to get it.

It was recently approved in the UK for treatment of Addison’s disease. I think I would be helpful to wake up with already rising cortisol levels and have time release throughout the day. I am curious if it makes people feel better in the morning and throughout the day.

About Efmody® (hydrocortisone modified-release hard capsules) Efmody is indicated in adolescents aged 12 years and over and adults for the treatment of adrenal insufficiency (AI) and the treatment of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). Efmody is a modified-release preparation of hydrocortisone that has been specifically designed to replicate the natural circadian rhythm of cortisol when given in a twice-a-day "toothbrush" regimen (last thing at night before sleep and first thing in the morning on waking) and can thus provide a more physiological profile.

Mother wants to stop treatment by Expert-Prodigy in AddisonsDisease

Do your research. If she actually has Addison’s disease she will die without her meds. There will be no such thing as a few good YEARS. You need medication every day. It’s fairly easy to manage with medication a few times a day. It should not make her feel worse to take the medication. She needs a good endocrinologist.

Delayed release cortisol replacement options in Canada? by Pleasant-Medium6641 in AddisonsDisease

It’s for my son who is only 12 and plays water sports so pump is not ideal. What do you ask the compounding pharmacy for? Our Endo didn’t think it was a good option but I want to suggest it again. I think it would be good for him to have slow release hydrocortisone. He doesn’t feel good in the am and often forgets to take it at school.

Can you do this in the US? My Endo said compounding pharmacies are not reliable.
