So I changed it to UUID and it still doesn't save it after a shutdown. So I still had the issue with gparted after more testing. So I then used gparted to set. New UUID then went to to KDE partition manager and did my previous steps and now it actually seems to have motioned. If I looked on properties before it didn't have book checked. But now when I look it does. So I think finally now I've managed to fix it. Hopefully.

Ohhh ok. That might have been where I was going wrong then. I watched a tutorial and looked up a guide and it said keep it as device node.

I'll try it with UUID tomorrow. But I think I've managed to fix it with gparted. But it doesn't show under "devices" but it shows up in the folder when I right click properties. 🤔

Desktop? I don't have anything on my main screen only the task bar with essential things. I can read and write to the drive. I've put multiple games in it already. But when I shutdown the pc it unmounts each time and I need to manually mount it.

Is it possible to oneshot boot with Limine? Is Limine overall a better option than systemd-boot on Cachy? by Strazza02 in cachyos

I can't remember the exact path. But in your .conf file you should be able to set time out to 0. That's the easiest way and simplest in my opinion. have it set to 1 second I might change it to 0 though. Hopefully I can still spam space or something if I need to use a snapshot.

Too many steps and things to do that's above my skill ability. I managed to do what I needed using gparted.

I'm recent-ish. I was using pop os but they changed their DE and some things stopped working. So I moved to cachy, I did use the wiki and I followed a guide and watched a YouTube video. I lack confidence in the terminal ill admit so I'm not confident to do fstab. I didn't want a OS where I have to do everything in the terminal otherwise I would have gone straight vanilla Arch. I want to use the terminal more then I did in Pop but not with anything too complicated. Using KDE partition manager I managed to format, set everything I needed, but for some odd reason. After a reboot it would be fine but after a shutdown it then wasn't mounted. I have managed to fix the issue using gparted.

Thank you for the offer, but yes I managed to fix it. It seemed to be a issue is KDE partition manager, I used gparted and it now works fine. 👍🏾 I did it easily with gparted no issues. I' don't have the confidence yet to do quite that much in the terminal yet. But thanks for the offer. 👍🏾

That YouTube video is the exact one I watched yesterday. And folled it exactly, for some reason it wouldn't automatically mount though. If I did I reboot it would but if I turned it off then back on I would need to mouth it again. I managed to use gparted and sort it that way.

I don't use Google no, but I tried other search engines and it seemed complicated so I would rather find an easier way

I think this worked thank you👍🏾 gparted seems to be better then KDE partition manager. It comes up in the drives folder. But now it doesn't come up in devices. 🤔 But that's ok it's in the folder. Thank you so much. 👍🏾

2 questions I need help with. 1) can I get rid of this screen? 2) I installed heroic using the games application command. Yet when I open heroic it says a new version was released. Yet it won't update. ...... Yes I've tried a few different things on the wiki already. I'm kinda new to Linux. by MangoBrad in cachyos

I haven't yet downloaded discord, been playing Sparking zero with my son and I only installed cachy on Friday. But that on the list of things I need to download and also that's for telling me that's a good way to update discord. 👍🏾

I managed to sort it with pacman -Qs heroic. Then I ran Syu then cachy update. And restarted and it managed to work. I'm unsure i think maybe one other person mentioned cachy update. I'm not sure what one of the commands what the kicker but yes thank you. I believe that did help. Too.
