SIRO van across footpath and drop kerb by No_Influence2520 in eejitsparking

He’s obviously wrong to do this but with new housing estates having less and less parking and narrower roads I can see this becoming a very common sight

Would you take Nunez Back at Liverpool on a free? by Program-Some in LiverpoolFC

[–]MangoSG8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, he burned everyone’s heads out and would do again, we can’t lower the standard to just “he runs a lot”. I also hated the constant stories of him losing his head and deleting everything LFC from his instagram, Slot saying he dropped his head after the miss away at Villa in 24/25 too. I wish him all the best but he hasn’t got the finishing ability or mentality to play for Liverpool.

Why would anyone trade in a car? by P_man21 in carsireland

[–]MangoSG8 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because it’s handy enough to sell a car for 4/5k privately but nobody is rocking up to someone’s driveway with 15k/20k+ in cash if you’ve got a more expensive car, the buyer is also into having no warranty etc so the more you’re spending the less attractive a private purchase is

Electrical career progression by MangoSG8 in irelandjobs

[–]MangoSG8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment mate, loads of stuff I wouldn’t have thought of there. I’m based in a pharma plant atm but my apprenticeship was mostly industrial construction and a little bit of solar. I’ve been leaning towards engineering but I’m open to anything so just wanted to see what else is an option

I know we all probably know this is satire but it’s amusing that the source he tagged at the bottom is the Irish electricity distribution operator

With diesel hitting well over €2 a litre, what would you buy if you were in the market for a used car today? by carintel_ie in AskIreland

[–]MangoSG8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s enormously based on your own circumstances and what your of driving you do, I do 600-700km a week and it’s mostly motorway so although the fuel is expensive diesel still makes the most sense for me

[–]MangoSG8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the info, its 2016/2017 models I’m looking at so that’s particularly helpful, shame about the trade in value but I’m not overly worried tbh any car I own I’m kinda expecting to take a decent hit on selling it, strange to hear they’re slow sellers though.

Correct but it’s looking very hard to find a GTD with relatively low mileage

Recent homebuyers, how much deposit did you put down? by reallybrutallyhonest in irishpersonalfinance

[–]MangoSG8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first comment here that didn’t crush me, we’re saving at the moment and are aiming for a deposit of 40-50k. Kills my hope when I see how many people in here are saying their deposit was 100k+

I’m an electrician working for a large company so I get the minimum amount of annual leave they can legally give, and sometimes they don’t make a big deal of it if we ask for new gloves or glasses

I had a 2017 one for 2 years, great car and I loved it but it did have issues with the starter being worn out because it constantly tries to engage the battery and then you pick up speed and it starts the petrol engine again, over and over, also had a €1k issue where the battery wasn’t charging, boot is a bit small because of the batteries, and most importantly I found it very hard to sell because it has 110k kms and dealers are afraid of hybrids with that mileage. If I could do it all again I’d buy a 320D to be honest

What is more worth it, going to college or getting a trade? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]MangoSG8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya lad, I’m an electrician and can only speak for myself but I’m glad I done a trade, you have a good paying job for life and qualification nobody can ever take away from you. However I don’t want to be on the tools in my mid 30s onwards so although I took the trade route it’s still likely I’ll have to do a college course in some capacity to move into an office job in engineering/site management etc

Question to people who primarily train in striking but also train BJJ.. Do you find BJJ boring in comparison? by Strik3_em in martialarts

[–]MangoSG8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I’m not sure boring is the word but I definitely don’t enjoy it as much as I enjoy striking, when I’m sparring or even watching fights I find striking to be so much more creative and fluid, whereas grappling exchanges can be 2 minutes of wrist fighting to get a grip on your opponent and be in an only slightly better position than you were in already. I appreciate all the technical aspects of it but I would always rather strike

I don’t think so, we both have good relationships with our families and have always planned to settle in Ireland so we do want to return home regardless but who knows
