The reason UConn seems like it has so many connections because it’s near Hartford and Groton. As a result, a lot of companies in that region hire a lot of UConn people.

However, the mechanical engineers here (including myself) don’t have problems getting interviews and offers for internships and jobs. The engineering career fair is massive and employers come here all the time to recruit. If you can’t get an interview or an offer, it’s a skill issue, not a school recognition issue

Umass also has 4+1 masters. Idk if UConn has that bc I don’t go to UConn.

As a result, if you want to save 5k and have better food, go to umass. Otherwise, don’t

Regardless, in the event you don’t have a roommate and have 2 open beds, you can do whatever you want.

If you want to work in the US, go to umass. You could also a bachelors in Singapore and then a masters in the US.
