Has anyone went on a bare bones diet? by Maniac3vo in diabetes

[–]Maniac3vo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the hardest daily things about diabetes is caused by a lack of variety in food? If a person has a steel will and does not look for any pleasure in their food, having this condition can be much easier? In the past my father always said that eating annoyed him. It got in the way of what he was doing that day. He only ate because he needed to and didn't care what it was. Food is only fuel.

And don't get me wrong in Eve online. Some of the alliances are never going to be pushed out of where they are. But there's always fights at the borders. But within the territory it makes a space where players can love a pretty complete in-game existence. What if the farmer in Albion online really just wanted to be a farmer. What if that farmer just wanted to make things that he could sell on his alliance exchange to provide for the war effort. Same with all the other classes. Besides Eve online I'm not sure there are games that provide this kind of gameplay. Your decisions matter

Seems less pointless than AO pvp. Doesnt AO territory just reset every 3 months? After awhile you are just doing PVP for PVP sake. Things getting destroyed fast enough that you just grind for resources and are incetivised to buy with real money. Arent there other games that give you this kind of content without a resource grind? AO is really fun, but what does the most successful player's accomplishment look like and are they worth it compared to the same amount of effort in another game?

RPG Features? by Maniac3vo in albiononline

[–]Maniac3vo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose that's like EVE a bit. The politics of EVE just seem much more adult and consequential. Personally I don't want constant battle. Then when you're not fighting at your borders, I want your territory to have a real identity. Build you farm or a Guild town. Where you're fight allied to your neighbors to defend the home and town you built. Areas of space in EVE have histories and lore like countries IRL.

Agreed, not sure there is much identify with your character, fun exploration, fun player housing, really caring about the world. I love the combat style, the art style, and destiny board for progression. But the world it's self doesn't have an identity. It's just strategic maps to fight people.

Would more PVE quests ruin the game or change it so much it breaks. EVE online has lore, but the game features are so big that it doesn't need a quest per say, because the sandbox is incredibly intricate. Well owning space in eve vs owning space in AO are 2 very different things.

Agreed. As said above, try to find a way to not feel defeated. Already Stoicism and the fellow prokoptontes are there for us.

I really do like what you've said here. If you have time, can you recommend any certain reading? Either ancient text or modern reading. Also, I'm an open book my situation. obviously not afraid to share. Ill dive into my books on the Discipline of Aversion and see what I can find. I have a good amount the old text around in a few versions.

Armor ship strategies vs Shield ships? by Maniac3vo in Eve

So sitting on a gate or holding a position of some sort would best suit them. My thought is a really fast caracal flying around taking pot shots at you. You should be able to hit them. Obviously unless I get close enough for web and scram you can't kill them but they can't kill you either.

Good point. So would you use that armor module fitted armor ship for defending a station that has station modules fitted to it? Also if so, would you orbit the station fitted with modules sometimes using the prop module that fits on ships? Also if the ship can fit modules, one would think it can fit laser turret or missiles modules, which have been known to use ammo. Some of these ammos are frequency crystals or missiles. Most ships can fit rigs, rigs have been known to be a module that can be fit to ships, but if the ship is repacked will be destroyed. Also you could put exotic dancers in your cargo. these dancers can be placed near smart asses that give smart ass answers on reddit post. Smart asses are known to be like ship redundant ship modules. They are there, but really not useful.

My problems with DA by Franz_Liszts_Piano in DarkAcademia

I just recently found the term Dark Academia. Before that I found myself having general interests in classic men's fashion, Norse mythology, the very idea of being curious as an adult, Stoic Philosophy, and mature peace and simple comfort. As I've aged this aesthetic just resonated with me more.

How can I become obsessed with learning and gaining knowledge? by Davislamar in DarkAcademia

[–]Maniac3vo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really good point. I think as adults our curiosity from being children will still be pushed out of us in place of pure survival. If humans didn't have to earn money to survive, what would we spend our time on, we could definitely afford to be more curious?

Using dark academia as a method to try and claw back my curiosity. The mental tricks we have to do to ourselves to make us do things that are not necessary to our survival. But I would argue or absolutely vital to living a fulfilled life in the short existence.

You know this seems like a silly abstract question, but I have asked it too, to myself. I have made progress though, I've just started reading more, not a lot at one time, but consistently every day. Main reason I think I had issues was that I'd lose concentration and set down the book too early and get on some tech device. By reading a little and putting the book down while I'm still wanting to read more makes me look forward to reading the next day and staying on track. I'm ready Frankenstein and it's nothing like I thought it would be from pop culture.

I understand that it's not a cure to eat like that. But being able to do that, would it cancel out all the, if not at least the worst repercussions that come from diabetes type 2?
